Steve Earle Speaks On His Album, "GUY"

A protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right. Steve Earle & The Dukes are set to return with their new album, "GUY." A return to New West Records, the 16-song set is comprised of songs written by one of his two primary songwriting mentors, the legendary Guy Clark. Earle took the BUILD stage to talk about the LP and play a few songs.
BUILD is a live interview series like no other-a chance for fans to sit inches away from some of today’s biggest names in entertainment, tech, fashion and business as they share the stories behind their projects and passions. I've been a Steve fan since 1986 when Guitar Town came out. I've seen him 3 times in concert, the latest being on 6/15/19 at an outdoor festival in Maryland. Thanks to the security not paying attention my wife and I made it back to where his tour bus was parked and we got to met Steve before he got on his bus. Really cool guy.

"There are people intentionally playing on the divisions between us, and getting rich doing it. And they're paying less and less taxes, and putting more on the shoulders of working people all the time." And if it's intentional, it's called a conspiracy. I can't wait to hear what he has to say on his upcoming album!
