Built-in BBQ creating an outdoor kitchen. We used resawn lumber to match existing patio cover, poured solid concrete counter tops with a cantilevered bar, veneered with stone and covered with corrugated sheet metal roof.
Concrete tops were wet sanded with diamond pads to give a smooth finish and then were custom stained for a faux stone look.
This video is done in time lapse to show the build which took about ten days to complete.

For me, the ideas in kzfaq.infoUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

Love this project! Definitely would like something like this in my yard. Quick questions. What's the overall soze of the roof structure? Also were those posts just 4x4's wrapped in 2x6's woth 2x6's spaining the top supporting the roof?
@OldGuyWoodworks
@OldGuyWoodworks 2 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, the cover is about 12'X12" square. We did use 4X4 posts and wrapped with both resawn 2X6 and 2X4. resawn 2X8 for the double header and 2X6 rafters.

Yep. getting too old for this stuff.. redid my back deck this past summer (2019), added a metal framework and roof, 10' at the eaves, 12' at the center, over an 18' x 20' deck. all tolled, took about four months (videos on my channel, nothing fancy). Took lots of pain killers. Could sure have done with borrowing your young guy! lol.. Yours looks great, jealous of your kitchen. Still no cooking on mine yet. Keep 'em coming!

@OldGuyWoodworks

@billhealy4188
@billhealy4188 4 жыл бұрын
what did you wrap the posts with?
@OldGuyWoodworks
@OldGuyWoodworks 4 жыл бұрын
We used resawn 2X8Doug Fir to wrap the 4X4 which were pressure treated. The larger resawn left a space so we could run electric for overhead lighting. If it had stone on the posts we would use black paper (felt) and then cement board.

Old Guy Woodworks $4,000 that’s not a bad price. They wanted to charge me $20,000 to just add a patio to my backyard. They told me that it would be way cheaper if I just had the patio built that’s not connected to my house.

Like the build. But why wasn't the overhang built out more for rain purpose. I mean the people would be dry sitting on bar stools. I hope ceiling fans were installed afterwards to cool down the heated metal during those hot summer days.
@OldGuyWoodworks
@OldGuyWoodworks 4 жыл бұрын
Nice observation. We considered that, but didn't want to go lower because of head clearance at the fascia. It doesn't look like it, but the fascia is down about 7'. So far it hasn't got that hot under the cover, but we do have the electrical pre-run just in case. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Old Guy Woodworks Couldn’t you have done the roof in two different slopes? So the one over the bar would have a smaller incline, so that the fascia would still be at desired height? I like the use of the metal studs vs wood.
