Exploring the Sierra Nevada with a 1st Gen Toyota 4Runner, 1988 Pickup Rock Crawler, 2015 Jeep Rubicon, and 2013 Tacoma. Follow along for an off-roading adventure!
High up in the Sierra National Forest, resting atop a granite dome, lies a fire lookout tower. Abandoned since 1979, this lookout tower sits at an elevation of nearly 8000 feet and offers spectacular views of the forest and Shaver Lake. Join us as a built Toyota pickup, 4runner, Tacoma, and Jeep Rubicon take on the Bald Mountain OHV trail located near Shaver Lake, California and make our way to the lookout tower.

I wished I was into this stuff when I was in college at Fresno State. I had a season pass at “Sierra Summit” now China Peak and would snowboard before my afternoon classes twice a week. Love the video.

You have a 91 pickup! The Tacoma didn't release until 95. 😉 I would research on forum boards such as YotaTech or Pirate4x4, join Facebook groups, and find likeminded people to learn from and wheel with. To do rock crawling well, you need to experience it and then decide what parts on the truck need to be upgraded to suit your style and what trails you're doing. 33" tires and a mild lift + at least a rear locker are a good place to start.
