Xevious (original not super) used to be my favorite game when I was 6. 10 years ago my grandma got me a plug n play Ms. Pac-Man game that also had Xevious, Galaga, Mappy, and Pole Position. I spent so many hours playing xevious.

I remember seeing that PnP ages ago! Mappy, Xevious and Galaga are all pretty great games; can;t say much about Ms. Pac-Man or Pole Position though. On our end, we had a 31-in-1 NES cart when I was young; while it didn;t have Xevious, it did have Mappy, Galaga and another fairly obscure - but amazing - Namco game: Battle City!

I understand the legacy of xevious, and still for an early title the small improvements are very much welcome, but since the game is an import. I can't justify purchasing it, I love the shoot'em up genre but to the most hardcore shoot'em up players I'm still simply a casual player at best.

I wouldn't call it an essential game by a long shot. The original Xevious is usually enough for most players, especially on the 3DS .

Is this the same game that became the xevious 3d classics on the 3ds VC? Not sure which famicom version got the 3d treatment.

That would the plain old OG Xevious. Also, VC is only for straight roms, the 3D classics are fully reprogrammed. That was a great version though!

The original arcade version got butchered for the 3DS.
