When I was a kid we used to breath from the bubblepool floor where the air came out. You could stay down for as long as you liked. Now we didn't test the airquality and I'm sure it was unhealthy. There was higher flow than through that tire probably, maybe you could do it with just the right size hole in the tire for a lil while. I think so.

I like that the car beat the camera. The camera guy made some tweaks and the beast turned it up and went faster,just to be safe.

Hmm About the speed camera... Don't know how it works in the US, but the issue here in Italy is one of certification. The speed camera is certified to work up to a certain speed, if it clocks you ABOVE that the reading is not valid. For the tire breating... Well some kind of straw could make it work. The License Plate mods two things come to mind, one is trying on night, two is NOT covering it completely with the glitter but ONLY in certain places in order to make some character appear as others.

With the valves on the tyres of European cars you can actually screw off the cap and no air comes out, you have to press a little pin on the inside of the valve to release the air. So with that (tiny piece of tube sticking out, with pin to hold the air back) it maybe would be easier than with the air just rushing out in seconds.

This episode was filmed before the Rimac Nevera or the Bugatti Chiron/Veyron existed I believe but those are road legal cars and would be interesting to see how they would do with the speed camera.

The only way I see someone would hold a wheel in "Vulkan greeting" position is if they were holding a cigarette between the pointer and middle fingers on their right hand and tried to steer with the other two.

If you add a steel staw to the tier you should have lots of air... please make Mythbusters 2.0 a show with the original cast... was an amazing show!!! Loved it!!/miss it!!

How would the steel straw push the valve open though? The average driver is more likely to have a plastic bag in the car than a steel straw. Instead of trying to breath directly from the tyre, it should be easier to hold the bag above the valve, let the bubbles fill it, and then breathe from that bag.

@@jimbobeire It seems plausible to you that you were chased, the car is tumbling in the river with the current that is tumbling you around, your adrenaline is over the roof and then suddenly you grab the plastic bag in said river current and you calmly place it in 1 spot for 10s to collect that air? XD Yes certainly you live in the comic book ;D

Also, I live near the estuary, and there is such a thing as slack tide. But, by all means, continue to argue if it makes you feel smart and superior.

as a paintball player, using a paint ball gun in this myth is dumb, lol also 190 fps is so low even for a paintball 300 fps is standard that would not hard that bad

I’ll be honest, my teacher never taught the 10 & 14 grip, I actually usually grab the wheel by 9 and 3, or just one hand at 11… relaxing drive. Never have I ever faced an activated air bag, either. Only crash I had was when my car went back first into the ditch. RIP both Grant and my grandpa’s Peugeot 406.

Man, I really want to see someone demonstrate that a person hooked up to an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine, wherein the machine oxygenates their blood for them, doesn't need to breathe. That would be so freaky, watching someone hold their breath for several hours, possibly even underwater or in an atmosphere with lots of toxic gases, and a machine doing all the work of keeping them alive. So much cooler than sucking air from a car tire!

Ballistic gel with "bones" is not the same as human fingers. We have skin, muscles, and tendons which are way more robust.

First scenario: they did not used a small bycicle pump tube to screw it on the valve and get pure air through it Second scenario: they ommited the fact that, while in an accident, the car occupant hands are not relaxed. Sure, the fingers will likely not fly around, but there will be lots of fractures and muscle tears on the falanges because you grab the wheel with all your strength bracing for impact... As an Engineer, little bit dissapointed...😂

There are cars with "normal" motors going over 240mph that are street legal even in the well regulated EU. They'd beat every speed camera here and in the US. Sorry.
