My mom used to send my brother and myself to my grandparents irrigation pond. We would go with 2 5 gallon pails some worms and our Zebco 202's. Bring me back some bullheads. 7 people takes a few to feed. Been stung a few times. Good eating. Brings me back about 40 years on that memory. Thank you.

I like using my 2.5 ounce bank sinkers set to slip up the line but got a bobber stop about 6 inches above my hook that way I got enough weight in the creek I fish to battle the current and keep my line in place but bc the line can slide through it I can also see bites
@bobg1219

Loved the show! I like using a 16in leader with a swivel,bead and 1/40z egg sinker for bullhead. That way when sinker gets caught in weeds the line still slides through and see the bite better.

Thanks Bob! I usually use an egg sonker anytime I'm fishing the bottom. I knew this spot was such a close casting distance I just went with a split shot though

It been a long time since I have fished for bullheads! My dad always told me to watch for those stingers…it was well into adulthood before I learned that wasn’t the case. I used to catch them one right after another on Indian Lake, fishing off our dock in the lagoon.

Thanks John!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. When I was a kid I had one of those skinning devices that you could twist. They were kind of a pain lol. Now adays I lay them flat and run the knife along to skin. They're definitely delicious

Thanks for a video of bank fishing. I target big carp and large catfish for fun off the bank. Got this year master angler for the bullhead and channel cat. I'm still looking for a big flathead. I was out of state catching forty pound carp.

They sure are fun to catch. Most bodies of water have them. If you look at the population data on the dnr site for different lakes you'll see theres lots around

We don't have size limits here either I've just grown picky over the years. They definitely have the potential to grow good size. Just have to find the waters that can allow them to do so

@LTOutdoors15 tried fishing on of our bigger lakes around here and seem to be the same size everywhere 😅 I see you like nightcrawlers, I have found if you put the worms in chicken liver juice and let them sit for a half hour the bite on them is on fire!!

@@LTOutdoors15 yeah I've been using the white vinegar instead of salt on different things for years even on squirrel any hair rinses off real easy where salt makes it stick. The rock bass I soaked Sunday night came out very mild and delicious.

Is there any reason why people don't eat catfish skin. I think it's tasty. I know sharks pee through their skin. Is it the same with catfish
@LTOutdoors15
@LTOutdoors15 3 ай бұрын
Its actually where the mud vein is between the skin and meat so it tastes better if removed. I've eaten the skin too though I'm not picky

The meat is pretty red. Reminds me of a jack or sheepshead for a salt water fish. They taste terrible unless you bleed them. Im guessing... these are not the case?
