Been in PLTR for a lil while. got 800+ shares @ around $8 Selling 8 covered calls @ $40 for Jan/25 I've already gotten about 30% of the premium in about a month. If I buy them back tho ... I dont think the stock will move much either way until next earnings. So I'm also cool just riding this premium down for another month.

What are the advantages of this over simply buying a call

Buying one call gives you 70 delta. This gives you 91 delta, making it almost like going long on 100 shares.

Zero extrinsic premium paid over parity to the stock price. A long call would have extrinsic premium which is decay.

So what happens if the options go ITM and its 0DTE? Do you risk being assigned because you are ITM? Or do you reverse out of the trade?

Remember with this strategy you want the options to be ITM the deeper ITM the better but you can close it at anytime.

Its still just a 50/50 shot on direction but the strategy can be used on any stock you are bullish or bearish on while using 80% less capital that naked stock. That's the true takeaway IMO
