Classic game between the Lakers and Bulls. This game had it all. It was an uphill battle for the Bulls all game coming back from deficits of anywhere from 18 to 23 points multiple times. Everytime the Bulls made a run the Lakers answered. Jordan had a horrible 2nd half with only two field goals but Scottie Pippen (35 points) and Toni Kukoc (31 points) came through with big 2nd halves to lead the Bulls back and win the game. Dennis Rodman had his usual fireworks and Randy Brown came up with a classic dunk in OT.
Also when the game goes into overtime my videotape takes a turn for the worse and I did everything I could to make the picture as clear as possible with the tracking lol.

If you notice the crowds back then,it was a working class crowd. People that worked hard all week and then went to a game and gave their all to root for the team they loved. Now tickets are so high they are for the rich that are only ther just because. Very quiet crowds that really dont care.

I do agree that tickets are more expensive now, but I disagree about the crowd noise. It depends on the team. If they are winning a lot and a championship team, the crowd is in the game and loud. Look at the Golden State Warriors in Oracle Arena. Watching Curry, KD, and Clay dropping 3's gets the crowd on their feet.

Another game where without Kukoc the Bulls wouldn't have won. He just didn't want to lose whether playing for his national team, in European leagues or in NBA. I was checking out my old game tapes and there were many where the Bulls were trailing in the 3rd or 4th and suddenly Kukoc starts taking threes. People don't realize what a huge impact he had on the Bulls record. Thanks for the upload and even bigger thanks for including Toni's highlights!

I remember watching the game live on TNT. I was glued to the television and just erupted in loud shouts when Randy Brown dunk. Man, I loved that year because I got to see most of their games staying with my Grandmother had who had cable TV and Chicago's WGN. That 69-13 Bulls of the 96-97 season were my favorite of the teams during their 2nd 3-peat. Out of the three, 97 was their deepest team with Caffey and Randy Brown contributing at a high level then the later additions of Brian Williams and Scott Burrell. Sadly, the lack of cap space to resign Brian (who actually wanted too much money in comparison to his output)and Jerry Krause spitefully trading away Caffey the next year weakened them going into the 98 season.

I think Rodman was the first player to go out of his way NOT to score... Just to prove, defensive/rebounding players can be superstars and get paid doing it... If you listen to alot of comments on Rodman, alot of teammates says he would pass the ball when he easily could of shot it.

Even when Curry, KD, LBJ, Westbrook, and whoever the centre it is become team up, I guess they could never run of Bulls with MJ, Scot, Kukoc, Kerr and Rodman. I couldn't find any dominant centre from today's game, NBA totally forgot how to use the rims. LoL

Correct! The Bulls were mentally stronger and they knew it. Those Lakers had all the young talent but couldn't handle the mental pressure. So the Bulls attacked that area by trolling them hard. lol!

Look at the defense, pressure on the ball. No physicality, just pure defense. That translates to today's NBA. The 2017 Warriors would have a hard time scoring, good luck guarding Jordan and Pippen...and nobody talks about Kukoc. He would be insane in today's NBA.

Awesome ending, awesome match. Awesome heroics from many. Pippen was huge, Kukoc commanded the late comeback with a ton of threes including a break-away without a follow-through over Shaq's fingertips to tie. Randy Brown posterizing two taller Lakers. Rodman with 17 Rebounds ( 18 Rebounds total in the match) and no points with seconds to go in OT and he swishes his first two points at the line though he was not a good free-throw shooter. Thanks for the memories. I'm going to show my Dad this one.

So many things to love about this game: obviously Bulls winning with a comeback, but Kukoc catching fire, Randy Brown's emphatic dunk (6:53), Rodman being tackled by Pippen and Jordan (8:09), and my personal favorite, Bill Wennington and Jud Buechler enjoying the moment on the bench! (7:21)

For all the kiddies wondering what that silly length-of-the-court defense was, it's called "full court press" and no it's not against the rules in the NBA today. Players today are simply lazy.

The way the rules are now it’s almost impossible to stay in front of your man in a full court press. Any kind of contact nowadays and it’s a foul.
