a lack of subtlety in most modern TV/Film Comedy is the problem imo, being edgy for the sake of being edgy just alienates audiences.

Neither June Foray or Paul Frees had done a Pottsylvanian (faux Russian) accent in their careers before they voiced Natasha Fatale and Boris Badenov. Today, they are among the voice characters we know them best by.

Rick Roscoe Have you ever gone to Disneyland? The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean... that’s Paul Frees. Some Like It Hot-Josephine was voices by Paul. Meowrice, the villain in Gay Purr-? That was Paul too. Ludwig, the crazy Duck uncle of Donald’s? That was Paul. I just discovered all this last night.

All of the segments are he (he was also the narrator on The Fugitive and the original Gunsmoke in the radio plays but I'm sure his physique ruled him out of playing it on the show)

"D.W. Grifter"? D.W. Griffin was one of the first and one of the greatest silent film producers. I love the subtleties they slipped in to these cartoons. Much funnier now, after half a century, then they were back then.

You know, this is a classic show that everyone loved. I’m just glad I first watched the Complete First Season on DVD and it feels nice and funny to watch with my brother. Good times, but I don’t have a DVD Copy of the Complete First Season (Rocky and his friends).

It's funny (and scary) that my wife can do a perfect Bullwinkle impression. Rocky, no, but Bullwinkle, yes. Oh, and she can do a decent Natasha, too...but a PERFECT Bullwinkle. Ah, that girl of mine....live in jealousy, the rest of you! (LOL...not really a quality you LOOK for in a wife, but, hey....she says I'm stuck with her now! ;) I'm glad, though!)

This was a great show.The good natured fun loving Rocky and Bullwinkle vs.Boris Badenov and Natasha Nogoodnik the sourpuss Soviets.Mr.Big,Who was just a big shadow and terrified Boris and Natasha was a hilarious touch.I wish I could've seen this without the subtitles.They were so inaccurate.For those who need or want them,its a shame that no one edited them.Any way,I never forget some of those lines.Fanmail from some flounder? Its...Mr.Big! and many more.

It’s really amazing how clever this cartoon was for the time it was made. It still surprises most animated shows made even today, in an age where the arbitrary restrictions of the early industry have largely been dropped.

Maybe wearing dark sun glasses in the dark tunnel to prove their eyes can re-adjust to sudden change in lighting while being children there getting away instead maybe could have helped save the day eh? Better than wearing sleep masks. 1984 was sure a good year in North America.
