My staffy is the only reason I can get out of bed a lot of days. I got a red one. It's hard to be depressed when you see that staffy smile! And mine howls like a wolf in the morning. The best dog breed for kids and babies, they are very trustworthy and protective around children.

I actually live in Staffordshire and like everyone on my street has a staffy. They can be so good with children and they’re so friendly, and of course, so beautiful

I am heavily researching these dogs currently and it seems to be the general consensus that they are NOT good guard dogs. Being that they’re so intelligent and love children, would there not be any natural instinct to protect a child in their family should they sense danger?

Kudos to you my friend. Staffies are the best. You're doing it right,everything you give them you will be rewarded for more than you can imagine. Mine is a a Stafford/boxer mix that wasAnna shelter for almost 6 months and was scheduled to be put down at the end of the week. People say I rescued him but the truth is he kind of rescue me.

Most underrated or forgotten of the bully breeds. Champion dogs, perfect family member. Their history is from Staffordshire England, were they worked in the mines, crazy ratters and mice killers. Very interesting history, check it out. Good job mate.

Aww this made my day! Staffies are people-loving sweethearts through and through. They probably won't do you much good for protection other than a deterrent, but they are just such wonderful companions. Very active, highly intelligent and trainable. I almost think this dude didn't put enough emphasis on how AMAZING they are with children.

My rescue staffi has Separation anxiety ,a pure lovebug,no good as a security dog he would lick any burglar to death!! Blue is 8,I rescued him about 4 months ago. He has learned so much since I got him,so he is clever. Yours is beautiful 💙 Never met a staffi who didn't like a ball,Blue is obsessed with it!! 💙

We've had our staffy for 6 months he's 2 now and my dog is identical to yours. And what a lovely breed to have. The 2nd night we had him he was sleeping with our cat who we have had for 2 years. No matter what people tell you this breed is the best. The original nanny dog. Lots of dogs try to bark and bite him when out on walks and our dog just looks at them stupid and just wants to play. Such an affectionate breed. Dont hesitate to have one. I can assure you, you wont be sorry. But in the first year of their life they do like to chew things when left alone so just make sure they got a chew toy to keep them happy. Wish i could put a picture of our rocco up to show you. Thanks for the video and your staffy is stunning too.

I enjoyed this documentary. I rescued a approx. one-year-old, 70 lb. Lab/Staffy in July 2018. My girl is high-energy and very loving. In hindsight probably adopted a dog like this at age 71 was probably a bit much. But for a younger, stronger, more active person I do recommend them.

Agreed. Bitesports are a super fun sport, but when people start talking as if they expect the dog to actually help the out in a real life situation, it gets kind of silly. (Plus, why would you intentionally put your dog in a position to get hurt?)

Tr Vlogs they aren't really good for protection work. Some of them have it in them but it's not a natural part of the breed temperament.

Tr Vlogs I think bite sports are fine for these guys as long as it’s more of a game. You really shouldn’t rely on them for protection like you would a Mal. They’re way too friendly to keep you out of trouble. But still , lots of fun for both of you

He is an Amazing looking baby, I have a girl, and she's the sweetest dog ever all she wants to do is play and be loved and she wants everyone that past by her to notice her, but lots of people are dead afraid of her, that breaks my heart . She adores children. But many people in my neighborhood say that she is the neighborhood dog, she was a rescue dog, but she is the sweetest dog I've ever seeing. The Staffies I have met working for a rescue have been wonderful dogs who love people. Not tough at all but silly fun and cuddly. I think responsible owners protect their dog not the other way round. Did enjoy the vid though.

These dogs are amazing I had a staffy and my nan had 2. Sadly mine died at the age of 14 in January I miss her everyday :( she was the best dog u could ever ask for she never bitten or nipped I loved her to bits. Unfortunately there are so many bad rumors going around about them and it's really not true deffinetly recommend this dog cause they are easy to train,loyal and also very good for a active family

I got a Staffy as a rescue Dog in May of this year. What can I say, life changing. He is a real character and has a beautiful temperament. 2 years old with the attitude of a puppy. Shame is I have noticed some people are scared of the breed and as most of us dog owners know dogs pick up on their owner emotions. Lovely dogs. Highly recommended but they do need their walks and they like to play as well so be prepared to put some in for a happy dog, you will be rewarded :)

I've had a few saffys now, can't see me having another breed. As far as protection, mine will let u in the house but if u go near the kids that's when he's got something to say. He gets a bit confused when the kids fight but both of them are able to command shadow to go lie on his bed. Is nice to see saffys doing there thing

Terrible for protection...only thing going for them is they look intimidating to some people lol Mine gets completely amped over people she doesn't even know. Was dragged to the ground while trying to pick up poo once because she wanted to go greet someone walking by. Now, on their end im sure that big blockhead running toward them at full speed looked scary AF...until it lays on its back and starts licking their shoes excessively -.-

Our neighbour's literally rolls over and expects any old random stranger to rub it's belly :D As for ours, he would probably lick an intruder to death instead of chasing them away :D With extra licks if you brought a ball with you :D I love him but he is the most useless guard dog. Unless you are a leaf. Then he'll bark like crazy at you :D

@Fresh Mann they tend to act as protection mainly because other people are needlessly scared of them. Terriers in general (from small Jack Russells to big amstaffs) are more hunting type dogs. Rodents usually. Staffies (both the original staffy (or "English" staffy as they get called here in Sweden) and larger American (amstaff)) tend to be incredibly people friendly. Being far too eager to please humans can be their weakness as well as why we love them so much. In fact they tend to do less well than other dogs at being left alone and are prone to separation anxiety. They get bored very easily too so need a lot of mental stimulation. They are not particularly territorial either. For protection you are probably better off thinking about some kind of dog that was bred for herding.

Nichole Lauren guess there something wrong with your dog or your training lol my dog follows me and if anyone gets close he starts getting into attack mode. Growling, barking, snapping, etc until I give him the word to stop. Then mine just sits next to me or between my legs and glares at the person growling. Lol nobody can get near me j less I want them to with my dog 🤷🏽‍♂️

Go for a raw diet. I have my Staffie on a raw diet and it’s improved his coat, look & health all over.
