so very true bullying never really goes away after high school, even I in college had experience with bullying, it was not nearly bad as high school, but it was still there. i think it still exists through out life because it is this stigma driven my society that if you don't act or look a certain way that is acceptable, then you see as outcast and low life. it must of been really hard for you knowing that you didn't belong even among gay people. :(

You're right. Bullying doesn't go away into adulthood. Some people are smart enough to wake up and realize it's childish to treat people like that. But some don't. And seriously, gay people at school gave you crap about how you speak and all that? Pfft, maybe THEY were insecure and wearing a mask instead of being their true self. Bullies seem to love tearing down anyone brave enough to stand out. I'm sorry the gay community hurt you like that and I hope it's gotten better since then.

You know, I think you shouldn't rely on a person being gay as a guarantee of their support. People are not "good" or "bad", but they have different shades of sensibility. I am sure that you know by experience that a straight person can sometimes be more supporting than a gay person. It's not the sexual orientation per se that makes the difference, it's the persons themselves. Sure, you might expect someone who is gay to understand your feelings better and act accordingly, but it really depends on their personality, which, sadly, can also be that of a bully. Just focus on the happy relationships that you have and discard those venomous ones 😊
