I especially love how they talk to older, severely injured, lost/homeless, and terrified critters. They use a voice that is comforting even more so than normally. That's how I am, too, so I know it is sincere in just wanting them to not be so scared, and that you will help them however you can...they are in hands that care and are safe.

I have a cat who had teeth issues when we adopted him. They had to come out (all of them), and when the vet was telling me about it, she said they basically fell out they were so loose. She said he must have been in so much pain, but was a tough cookie. He has been doing well for 9 years now. Such a good baby boy.

@@Pep_anPicket23 Brave Sir Robin lived up to his name. Apparently his teeth were super painful (an issue he had when he adopted him at 1 yr old). Once his teeth were put and he was all healed up he did so well. To the point where he became a slight chunky monkey because he could eat without pain. He is 11 now and is going strong (FINALLY lost a bit of weight). Cats are pretty easy to adapt to not having teeth. We have 2 circulating water dishes with their dry food (vet diet) and they get their wet food every other day.

Dr Scott thanks so very much for taking us along ur amazing journey of caring for the Aussie animals as u said we all need to take care of these beautiful animals and its a really big shame that when someone hits an animal they don’t even check to see if it’s ok or not which is so truly sad. My goodness the lion u helped X-ray was truly just incredible what an amazing opportunity to be involved in that I noticed u just wanted to keep giving it pats and touching him which I really don’t blame you I would of been the same as well. The 2 story’s that were truly really heartbreaking was the old puppy with the bad teeth and the bottom issue and of Lismore it’s quite hard to imagine what they all truly went threw every day for weeks and so very sad for them.

It’s been heartbreaking to witness how global warming has unleashed its wrath upon Mother Nature and all her living creatures. The ecological balance growing ever more precarious for wildlife, especially that of the unique plethora of wildlife that is only found in Australia, and nowhere else on our planet. The hard work of all the vets and volunteers is to be commended. You couldn’t put these beautiful precious creatures into more loving care than the current dedicated workforce helping to treat and protect Australia’s wildlife. Oat looks almost identical to my dog Lillie. She was a rat terrier/miniature pinscher mix and had the exact same coloring. She also had similar dental problems, although hers were mainly due to her age. But she had absolutely rancid breath and while I still adored her even with her yuck mouth, I definitely found it difficult to give her close cuddles and kisses. She ended up having to have several teeth removed when she was about 14-15 because they were just barely hanging in there. We actually only got charged for about half of the removals because so many basically just fell out. But my goodness, once the rotten teeth were gone, she clearly felt so much better. She was eating more enthusiastically, she was more comfortable with her mouth being looked at, and she obviously got way more kisses and in your face cuddles since she no longer stunk. She had a few more very happy, very comfortable years before she passed away about a year and a half ago. Since I grew up with her and she helped me through some of my darkest times, obviously her passing was absolutely devastating to me. She was definitely one of those dogs that you only encounter maybe once in your life. Little Oat reminds me so much of Lillie and while it does bring up a twinge of sadness, he reminds me of all the quirks that she had and how special our bond was. ♥️🥰♥️
