How big are they compared to honey bees? We don't get them where I live

@@Yvonne_ozlife ours can be 3X or more bigger than a honey bee. I've been smaller ones, but they tend to be pretty large. I've had some fly next to me and at first think it's a humming bird by the sound until I look over!! 🤣🤣😳

That’s how they shake the pollen out of certain flowers.

I just watched a video that said that some plants have their pollen locked inside and it can only be released when certain bees vibrate at certain frequencies. Apparently bumblebees are one of the bees that can pollinate these kinds of plants.

Like honeybees. Hate bumblebees. Got stung on the kiester when I was five. Haven't liked them since.

@@johnc5874 that's unusual. Honey bees are much more aggressive than bumble bees in general. A bumble bee will give a warning first (if you've seen a video of them 'waving', that's the warning), whereas a honey bee will just go for the sting. However there's always a small chance at any point, just because we're gargantuan compared to them and could easily stumble into each other by mistake. But you hate them, just because you got stung once? Not sure how bad a sting like that can be. I know some people have an allergy that can make it life threatening, but since you didn't mention nearly dying from it, I would presume you don't have that? So why would you hate an animal just from one sting? It seems odd to me, but then again, I adore bumble bees, so I am biased and bound to think that. Still seems odd though. I've been stung in an even worse place when I was little and it hurt a lot as well as being too embarrassing to admit at the time but I didn't blame the bee for that, it's a bee. It sadly got caught in my clothes and understandably panicked, as did I. It was a bit of pain and then it wasn't, and the next day was another day (shrug). I'm sure the creature didn't mean you a personal slight. And yeah, among types of bee, bumbles tend to be the least likely to sting you (exceptions for some solitary bees also being on the gentler side). I'm still very careful around bumbles but it's more to do with my shaky hands than it is to do with their temperaments. It's more that I wouldn't want to hurt them, than that I wouldn't want to get hurt by them. Hope you can overcome this fear you have. Early childhood can set a lot of experiences in stone, and sometimes out of proportion. Could be worth re-evaluating, perhaps?

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.

Bumblebees only make enough food for their colony, unlike honey bees who make an excess. So uh... you kinda just did more harm than good. Really, I'm only commenting to help inform so that people don't get the idea to steal bumblebee honey.

That's very nice of you, Bumble bees don't make as much honey or Bee wax as Hiney bees. If you want to help out the bees, and help preserve them, just plant shrubs and plants that they pollinate, that's the best way to help them 🐝❤
