Beverley is also the founder of the Babishai Niwe Poetry Foundation, which promotes African poets through festivals, publications, and the Beverley Nambozo Poetry Award (2009-2013)-a pioneering initiative for Ugandan women poets. Her notable achievements include the BBC Commonwealth Games Ugandan Global Ambassador for Poetry in 2014, pioneering an evolutionary space for Ugandan female poets, serving as the first Ugandan on the Toastmasters East Africa cabinet and launching the region's first district newsletter. Beverley, who holds a Master’s in Creative Writing from Lancaster University, aspires to travel the world by age 70 and enjoys long-distance swimming. FUN FACT; 1. Beverely is the host that I invited to join us for Bump Love 1.0 in 2018 but turned us down because she was going to have her baby 2. She was my Sunday School teacher and always kept me positive about life and inspired me to be a Sunday school teacher myself 3. We were in a dance group together for ministry called Keith Ministries; a ministry that inspired me to stay in church. I'm BEYOND happy that she's available to join us for Bump Love 2.0!
