It's my 4day post opt and explaining things in a lighter way helps a lot of people trying to get answers from the questions they have in mind. Very informative and I agree that if there are some issues that might arouse on the way during recovery that might be an issue on your end, try to consult with your surgeon as they were the one who examined you. Guys for your bumps use hot soaking and then put a cloth in icy water for 10 min and use it to decrease the flame sensation it helps alot cold compression

I' m on day 4 , this is the second time im doing this operation ( first time was 8 years ago).this recovery hurts a lot. and I always come this channel for reassurance. You're the best dr Chung. You're a true people's doctor with a true call for medicine! The thing i am upset is that i did hot yoga 4x a week and all that squatting did no good to me. I think i am vetter for life :(

Nice explanation DR I have done my THD procedure 10 days before due constipation I have applied pressure at the time of stool and suddenly I found some bumbs and got worried and started searching in Internet and luckily I found your video and feeling little relaxed. Those are recurring hemorrhoids. Bumps...doctors just don't want to say that because they know it will upset their patients. Those are new hemorrhoids that will leave skin tags after they go away.

I got surgery in 2002…. And 2 New Bumps appeared 1 week after…. Bumps turned to skin tags…. And I just got another Surgery in 2024 which is 2 days ago…. And when I took shower at night I saw 1 New Bump Big like a Lemon,, so painful,,, Oh my God! I’m so sad Now…. This is my 2nd Surgery and looks like it developed New Bumps and Skin tags each times I got Surgery! Maybe the Instruments that the Doctor’s Assistant using on me too Aggressively and Stretched too much and damaged and created New Bumps each times! Now I’m in Pain and Hopeless…. There is no way that my Hole will be 18 looking anymore! 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲…. Update!!!! I just visited my Doctor on Febuary 14…. He found 1 internal and 2 external hemorrhoids and He told me to come back in 2 months to have them Banded…. Oh my God…. Why after so many surgeries and my Situation Never get better But Worser? 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

Damn, man. This just makes me feel awful. Literally have been ghosted by my surgeon. Won't take my calls. Receptionist makes me explain what's going on- she texts the doc and then I get a response the next day. Things like "we don't do pain management- cut your pills in half and alternate days between percs and ibuprofen."- and maaaaaan that is just NOT an option. A week out from surgery and my Primary just set me up with an appt with another surgeon who might be able to help me out. Worried as my pain levels have gone up that I might be facing an infection. But that's just the anxiety talking. The day I see the second opinion surgeon is the day the pain meds run out and duuuuude- that'd be a nightmare if they're not sympathetic and are as cold as the person who did my surgery. Original doctor did warn me: "This recovery is going to be hell." - I just wish she'd've finished the statement with an honest bit of info like "- and it's going to be hell because I'm going to ignore the fact that you exist." Just awful.

I would probably never allow a hemorrhoidectomy. I had another procedure, called a seton fistulotomy and that was unpleasant enough. When sitting for too long, it felt like I had a thumb tack in my butt. My doc said hemorrhoidectomy was quite a bit worse.

Hello, Doctor Chung! First of all, thank you very much for your great videos. You truly are providing invaluable information that is quite difficult to source on the internet. I have a skin tag which I suspect is the result of my previous external hemorrhoid that has shrunk. I'm thinking of getting it removed as it is negatively affecting my self esteem. I have a question: I read online that people started seeing new bumps or tags following their anal skin tag removals. Are these similar to the bumps that some see after their hemorrhoidectomies and will these bumps go away naturally? Thank you again for the informative videos! Cheers!

Is external thrombosed hemorrhoid same as perianal hematoma? If the bump is thrombosed as a result of hemorrhoid artery ligation, can you use Heparin cream to dissolve blood clot on the bump ? Thanks

Hello doctor, does it ever happen where the bump is really hard to push back in? I ended up in the ER(which i have to wait for hours) and probably exacerbated the issue. They were able to push it back in but now too scared to have another BM.

Thanks for making this video. I had one large external removed on Oct 26th and those bumps at the incision had gotten larger and i went to my doctor and he just says Im still healing. Not sure he knows the difference like you mentioned in your video. He said 4-6 weeks recovery. Im on week 14. The pain is a lot better but somedays are worse than others. Totally dont trust my doctor and think he may just be bad at his job.

They are common, yes. But not all of them go away. You will need to ask your surgeon if he/she can remove them later on.

Someone please help me. I’m so stressed out. I am 3 weeks and 4 days post op. Before surgery I had one minor tag. Now I have huge lumps and they aren’t going down. I feel pretty good; not so much pain anymore when I have a bowel movement so why are these bumps still so prominent. I’m concerned I will look worse after surgery than before and I will never be intimate with anyone ever again because of this. My doctor doesn’t see his patients until 6 weeks post op and I am really stressing out. I can’t find any answers. This video helped put me at ease two weeks ago but im on week three they are still so big?!?! Please someone tell that it does in fact go away

Its my 3rd day post surgery. Its not as painful as it was on the 1st day but the bump is so big, almost as big as my thumb. I was soo scared thought that the surgery failed or something. Dr. Chung... how long does it usually take to fully recover for mix grade 3 hemorrhoids? When will you know if the bumps you have are skin tags?

I did the operation with spinal anesthesia and after the anesthesia came off I couldn't urinate and they inserted a catheter and when they removed it left me with pain when I urinate, is this normal?

Does everyone get these bumps/flares post surgery? I am seeing a Dr in a week after several months waiting for an appointment. Mine sometimes go down and swell up periodically. I am concerned if it gets worse after surgery!

Yes same with me to . I had fissure and hemorrhoidectomy. Had one very big bum and scary one bit smaller after 2 week now but shrunk but after 5 week surgery I feel some thing sharp or place thing in my ano nearly out firstly I thought it is food fibre. And having trouble going to poo and toile today and cut as well sharp pain when I try and feel something prinking me . Already have appointment on Thursday to the surgeon. Too much poo as well ne me uncomfortable. Like pain or not satisfied.. I don’t know when I will get better . I have received panicura but it was after surgery. I haven’t open yet .

Can you discuss some options to reduce swelling of enlarged skin tags from hemorrhoid surgery? Also when should the swelling be going down? I am on day 10 post hemorrhoid surgery and still very swollen and stressed out. I have been using ice packs, anti-inflammatory meds, and Desitin. Is there anything else I can do or use to help? Thank you for the videos on hemorrhoid surgery. They do help. Deanna

Im in the same situation as you. I have skin tag 1 day after my hemorroidectomy which is very strange because i think the doctor didnt do a great work. I dont have a lot of pain but i have a lot of spasms after going to the toilet

I’m 4 days out and I’m still having a ton of pain, my girls parts hurt, pain down my legs and pain on the left side of my girls parts. Anyone else with similar symptoms? If so, did they resolve?

My doctor went on vacation, and I can't reach anyone with expertise. I have been so depressed that I went through so much pain and effort with this surgery, and i was thinking it was all for naught. Hello, I’m 22 days after surgery and I have like the dr. said 4/5 bumps out of my rectal area and they are swollen. My dr. Told me it was swollen but I been doing everything as sitz baths and the soft diet but they don’t go away. I’m so depressed because I feel worse now. I went through all this nightmare for nothing like you mentioned! I like to read the comments of the patients that are recovering so well, I’m glad for them! 💕

@@yeseniavasquezderodriguez8125 i am 21 days post-op, and i very much still have my swollen bumps, too. i just had my post-op appointment a few days ago, and my surgeon says it looks normal. he expects the swelling to go down in the next 4ish weeks. So, you likely need to give it more time. Hang in there!!! Hopefully all heals well. I am praying for the same for myself.

@@ladylove34 thank you for your comment. How are you now? Is the swelling any better? Mine still the same. What I don’t understand is that like I said in my first comment my dr. told me it was swelling and then in my last appt. I had he told the nurse he was going to check my hemorrhoids, so I asked him “ are those down there hemorrhoids he says yes but they are going to go away and you might end up with skin left” I’m confused because I thought I was going to have nothing left after the hemorrhoidectomy. I hope they’ll go away 😢I hope you are doing much better!

Hi doctor, I'm so glad I found your channel and this video specifically. I had my surgery 5 days ago and I didn't dare to touch my parts up until today. But when I did, I found out bumps the size of half of chickpea and I almost cried. I thought it came back. They are so painful to touch. I'm using male diaper so excess pus and blood gets soaked away. Is it okay? Or does diaper make it worse to heal? I have hot body meaning I generate lots of heat in general. When I lie on bed just for 30 minutes I feel like there is charcoal on my bottom. Too hot and then these bumps are there now. What's the best way to recover? I had worst and hardest stool yesterday and I'm scared to pass stool. I am drinking gatorade zero with electrolyte and light soups and I am planning to do this diet for next 10 days or so. I don't want to pass stool at all. Please help.

hey doc, i had stapled hemorrhoidectomy in July, is it normal to have bumps 6 months after surgery? i have had it for maybe 2 weeks. My doctor doesn't seem to assist. I think i have severe constipation, i have tried changing my diet, taking stool softeners and nothing is helping. I am now starving myself. I will appreciate your assistance.

What about the “ooze”? I have course expected a little bleeding, and the thin blood that I was getting was also not that much surprise. But now about four days out, I have a constant ooze that is not red or pink: it is reddish brown. Should I be concerned?

I would suggest giving yourself a little more time to heal, this early in your post op you will be seeing things you haven't seen before. Yes I had the same thing going on, 23 days post op and things have cleared up now.

Older video, but I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. I dont have bumps, but I do have a sort of flap of skin sticking out of my ass. Its thin and smooth and wide, about the size of your thumbnail. Shape wise, it feels like half of a Nickle, and its very sensitive and hurts a lot. I did ask my doctor, and he said something about it being secondary healing, but I didnt really understand it.

Doctor I had lateral internal spinctertomy at 3' o clock position 6 months before. And now I can feel little bumps on right side of my bottom end. Although it does not cause any pain while passing the stool but sometimes i feel like inching . Is it normal or I have to work fot it?
