How about only clear fluids for 10 days? Give the anus a rest and time to repair without constant stress. It worked for my diverticulitis (sp?). Went 20 days Lost 20 lbs. Hate broth!!! Greetings from Belgium. I’m an OR nurse myself and yes 3 days ago it was my turn to be on the other side of the needle. I underwent a Milligan Morgan. I must say recovery is with ups and downs… Got the arsenal of painkillers: Paracetamol, diclofenac and tramadol and a stomach protector. Of course also a stool softener. The worst now are sfincterspasms who are coming out of the blue! Although my surgeon if very caring and informative (she called me this morning to hear how I feel), your video is very good and reassures me that it a matter of time. For all off my fellow sufferers: keep up the spirit!

Yep. Got a hemmeroid a few years ago, was told by doctor to use Proctysedyl cream (contains a steroid)....cream thinned the skin....got a fissure, then fistula. Surgery for fistula in a month (which I've read are sometimes difficult to cure, even with repeated surgery), plus hem banding (which I've read & been told is not a permanent fix anyway....or can even make the situation worse). My mental health has never been great but the last few years, I've never been lower. I've withdrawn from everyone & everything, even my kids. I dont leave the house unless I really have to. I keep wondering how much Endone it would take to leave it all behind, permanently.

Hello Doc, I hope you will answer my question. I just had a perianal abscess surgery last June 24. I had my follow up check up with a colorectal surgeon and he said the wound is healing nicely. Until now, I still have pus draining in the site every time I change the gauze. And there is like a manageable like a wound pain every time I sit. He said to comeback after 6 weeks for a follow up check up to know if there is a fistula developed or not. He said that the procedure he will be using a hydrogen peroxide in the wound and check if there will be leaking inside the anus. Is this method safe? Or a red flag?

That's not true at all , when you poop your rectum don't close up immediately ,it stays open and gently closes up however if you get your finger up there and gently clean it it gets clean , I have been washing up since I was little and I get everything out and nice and clean up so don't talk stupidness, and my butt don't hurt

Thanks for the info on the sitz bath Dr Albert, I used a sitz bath over the toilet for a while and I think it worsened my hemorrhoids, so I started to sit inside a bucket as a sitz bath and the bucket was rested on the floor. However the bucket isn't to wide and my butt gets stuck in the bucket a little. I am not sure if this good because I have to stoop down and sit in the bucket. I was wondering if I can use warm wet rags instead of the bucket.

Odd I had a banding a couple years ago, I thought it stop the pain this year but suddenly it came back. The hemorrhoids internal were gone but it didn’t heal fully so the complications occur months after that. I had internal surgery to have it suture and on recovery mode. I get to go home next day. Almost 2 weeks of no work or even workout. Next week I should resume my work and workout, with caution for confirming if any pain.
