Die Eisernen fought until the very end to deny Stuttgart from scoring and won on aggregate due to their two away goals in the 2-2 draw at Stuttgart. If you don't know why Stuttgart's goal was disallowed, it's because no.22 blocking goalkeeper's view. If only he stood a bit to the left, then it was a goal.

@@AComan-ch5wt It was the right decision. Number 22 was deliberately standing in the way to block the goalkeepers view. He was a mile offside. The only reason he did it was to block his view

May 2009, Nurnberg; the west german club sent Energie to the second tier through play off May 2019, Union sent Vfb Stuttgart down to the second tier through playoff thanked to the away goals rule

It is now late April 2022. Union are in 6th place in the Bundesliga and challenging for Champions League spots

It is now June 2023. The season has just ended and Union have qualified for the Champions League and actually led for 7 weeks earlier in the season. They finished with an unbeaten home slate in domestic competition and one loss at home in international competition to RUSG.

Because the player are not allowed to stand ifront of the goalkeepers vision when the ball arrives to him. As long as you interfear with the goalkeepers vision it counts as offside.

that’s not offside. i don’t usually watch bundesliga so this isn’t biased. he’s not been involved in the play, as the free kick taker went for goal. therefore offside was out of the question.

it is no offside. stuttgart player is not moving, not touching the ball and the ball is at least half a meter away of him...poor decision...and referee clearly saw him going for the offside area before ball played...
