Thanks to their mobility and flexibility, military helicopters play a significant role in Bundeswehr land, sea and air missions. They are urgently needed for transport, combat and rescue missions. Regardless of climatic or geographic conditions, the machines must always be able to move reliably and quickly. The report presents various helicopter models and offers an insight into the training of Helicopter Squadron 64.

The Tiger is most certainly not the only copter where the crew sits behind each other-IE Tandem seating. US- Cobra and apache, Soviet Hind and Havoc, Italy-Mangusta, Chinese-Fierce Thunderbolt, SA-Rooivalk and I am sure there are a few more.

Well, the H145M might not look that impressive, but it is a good helicopter if you don't want to use any assault helicopters which can be expensive. A helicopter that flies is always better than a fancy helicopter on the ground or that doesn't even exist because you can't afford enough.

the Bundeswehr could do with a fleet of 92 - 96 brand new MH-53KB Super Stallion II multi mission transport helo . . . it'll replace their aging fleet of MH-53E Stallion multi mission transport helos that has served the Bundeswehr for the past 42 years . . .

@@indahooddererste That's because standard integration with us Dutch becoming 1 Ger /Dutch army is going on.. Already buying the same and developing stuff, like Boxer, Fuchs armored vehicles. The Germans train on the Chinooks so they worked with it from first hands . Smart move because the joint armies have a variety of Heli's for every mission ! Apache, Tiger, Caracals, Chinooks NH90's Transportation A400Atlas , Airbus MMT , Hercules and c390's coming .. French and Belgians are doing the same.. Getting much stronger as a midget country it's the only way... European army is far away though, but these are the first steps..

No, thats are just ridicules rumors. The Typhoons are ALL oprationional, only the Tornado´s lack spare parts. The grounded Tornados will be replaced by Eurofighter Typhoons and F-35, the procurement orders are still out - 43 Eurofighter Typhoon and 35 F-35.

A senior American general said that Germany is barely a "second world" military power with all their critical shortages, low readiness rates of aircraft, and limited training. "They are close to third world standards" he continued. These helicopters sound impressive but I understand their availability and numbers are very, very low by NATO standards. Poland (how ironic) will be a stronger military power than Germany soon if they get all the HIMARS, Apache, and Abrams they've ordered. Lots of these Euro-choppers look good but are weak and fail. Australia is getting riding of most of their Euro-copters in favor of better, mostly US made models. The American made 53's a like old Mercedes S-class sedans in that they last for decades, are robust and tough as nails, rarely fall apart, and go on and on forever and day.

Sorry for Bundeswehr. The dependence in anglo - american turbine engines is absolute. Bundeswehr has a very big trouble with that. They don't develope any airplane, any helicopter and any aircraft without the USA and UK judgement....
