In this video, I show you how to make buns that are easy to put together and taste like cake. You can make this in as short as 30 minutes for thanksgiving or any other special occasion.
Here are the ingredients and exact measurements:
400ml or 3 and 1/4 cup full-fat milk (at room temperature)
500g or 4 cups (125g cups) of all-purpose flour
125g or 1 cup of sugar
5 tablespoons butter (mediumly heaped, see video for example)
5 sachets (15g each) of vanilla sugar for flavouring
3 whole eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder (level)
The rind of 1 lime or 1 tablespoon grated lime rind (the back of a lime)
1/2 nutmeg (grated) or 1/2 tsp powder nutmeg
A pinch of salt
1 and a half litres of vegetable oil for frying
For the method see the commented video.
If you try this recipe, please tag me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook ‪@AfricanNutritionTV‬.
I'd love to see your recipes.

I always remember us making this during the festive season. We almost always have doughnuts at home all through December and January. Looks sooo yum! You got my cravings going 🥵🥵. I’m not so good with my hands 😭 so use a teaspoon and dip it in water occasionally to keep the dough from sticking 🤗

Here we go by the 80 - 20% rule. Nothing is off-limits so long as you eat healthy 80% of the time. This is a recipe for a special occasion like Christmas or if you a celebrating a wedding. You can eat them but make sure not to overeat.
