Instead of density this video will explain how to use buoyancy and the buoyant force to determine whether an object will float or sink in a fluid. This is done by comparing the weight of the object to the buoyant force from the fluid. The buoyant force is the upward force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of an object that is partially or fully submerged in the fluid.

Sir i have a question in ur video in order to find whether the object sink or float it depends on comparing the weight / buoyant force ,but in other resources they just compare the density how come ? In the formula of comparing the two forces: Density (solid) × v (solid) ×g / V liquid displaced × density (liquid) ×g So from this we can exclude the gravity, but the volume we can't so why we just comapre the densities at the end ?

Yes, you can think about the floating two different ways, 1) if the density of the object is less than the density of the liquid then the object will float or 2) if the buoyant force from the liquid is greater than the weight of the object then it will float. They are of course related to each other and one can be derived from the other. Does that help?

@@stepbystepscience yeah yeah I know but just I'm wondering from the formula we only consider the density what about the volume we neglected it

How exactly would the buoyant force becomes equal to the gravitational force, so that the thing floats

That is how the volume will not be the full volume of the cube? It was an interesting topic loved the video sir 👍

Yes, that is the case, when the object floats the volume will not the the full volume of the object. only the portion that is below the surface.
