9 ай бұрынIn this little video I show you the easy way of burning lightning patterns in wood. The machine you need is very simple and everybody can do.
The method is spectacular but dangerous if you do not know how to work with high voltage. The results are so called lichtenberg figures or fractal burnings. It is a very cool way for DIY arts and crafts to give your woodwork a unique touch. Electricity meets wood :)

At least 34 people have died trying to do this since 2016. If you're not 100% sure of what you're doing please don't make this. The transformer takes the 120v to 240v from the main power supply and turns it into 2000v and that's 10x the amount it would take to kill you. Using a microwave transformer makes it more dangerous because it negates the safety switch that would cut the power to the socket if it notices anything abnormal. It would just keep going and potentially cause a fire. It looks really cool and I'm glad you know what you're doing but it's super important people know just how dangerous it can be if they want to have a go themselves.

As allways you should know what you are doing does not matter if building, climbing or diving. I dont know about the statistics, but 2000 Volts can be dangerous!

The statistics are probably a little dated by now and they're just from the deaths reported in newspapers so they could be a little higher if anything so sorry if they're a little off. If you do find more accurate and up to date ones please let me know!@@heikoofalltrades2267
