Omg this really helped me understand the pathophysiology of burns!!! Why can’t they just tell us this and break it down like this in school 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yas!! My instructor taught us what to look for and said fluids shift but didn’t explain exactly why but maybe it’s because they expected us to already know this from biology/microbiology/chemistry. This video was very helpful and now I won’t forget that potassium likes to be warm and cozy inside the cells and sodium is a free spirit that likes to party outside the cells!😂

So does that mean serum potassium levels is the level of the potassium free flowing in the blood only and not the potassium inside the cells?

All of these signs and symptoms will still appear as an option on the test question. D problem is knowing which comes first. All the answers always looking the same. 1st degree burn is the same as superficial, n both will still be on the options A-D. This is where d problem is.
