The story of William Topaz McGonagall - supposedly history's worst poet.
William McGonagall's "bad" poetry is legendary; so bad it''s good. But what inspired a weaver from Dundee to become a professional poet? And why are his books still in print?
Follow my adventures as I travel through the landscapes and history of Scotland. I make quick, quirky and (hopefully) funny content about Scotland's past, people and scenery.
I look for the hidden stories, forgotten people and beautiful scenery of Scotland and try to find the funny in the darkness, obscurity and occasional absurdity of our history.

The well-edited reading of McGonagall's The Tay Bridge Disaster with the sad music playing in the background made me cry laughing. Thanks for that! He's beaten out a lot of stiff competition to be the worst poet in history. There is a contemporary rapper or two out there trying to knock him off his throne.

I love your channel! Just discovered it and will probably be binging all the videos. Went to Scotland last year and completely fell in love with the country. Yeah, that was the Forth rail bridge. I was eating haggis, neeps (turnips) and tatties, the official meal of Burns night. Ketchup is definitely frowned upon.

Ah Rabbie Burns.... yeah not a fan. Here in the US he is an excuse to drink once a year (like we need one), dress in kilts and evening gowns, and force others to eat Haggis (needs more garlic). Daniel Craig is the best Bond. Thank you for another entertaining tale.
