Yeah at this rate update 9 is literally do or die. It's been 2 months of an unplayable version of the game. It's sickening they haven't tweaked small shit like garrison distance or supply timers to help improve things. Black matter developers ain't looking so hot atm.

Absolutely agree. It's clearly evident they haven't been able to balance meta, and have gone so far as to impede many functions. We currently have a broke update. The meta, due to garrison distance increase and supply deficiency, is unplayable coming from a vet SL. I don't think they're taking feedback or public consideration AT ALL. Forums show that they're out of touch with what the players want to see changed. They create content they feel will bring them increased $ support. New briefings keep touching on the future when presently the game NEEDS ADDRESSING. How is this an improvement over u7? Much hope has been lost and I don't see how they can miraculously begin to address community concerns, when they clearly care very little about how the LIVE game plays.

It's amazing they've been able to develop such a great game only to destroy it with their major updates. Their ~5 month long update timeline philosophy is damaging their LIVE game. The meta changes are infuriating to no end, it literally makes the game unplayable as a SL (the main role of the game...). I've been on all of their forums and reddit talking about how these changes have destroyed the core game. It's like they don't know they've broken their own game. They don't test or play their game, it's painfully obvious. There's so many red flags at this point I don't see how they can recover. Since U6 it's been downhill in terms of QA.

It's a HUGE fucking mess right now. Notice the lack of communication? To them their game is just humming along. YEAH OUR META IS BROKEN but we have a paragraph on how we will fix this in 5 FUCKING MONTHS. I cannot believe they devoted that little attention to a core gameplay mechanic that has been an ongoing issue from day 1. 1.5 years in review, not much has changed and most of their overhauls haven't improved anything. Yet, somehow people have faith in them? If we get more of the same, it's dead. I really think U9 will kill the game at this rate.

aye I did a vid about that, i think a lot of it had to do with the maps though. I'm going to start collecting data from this seasonal and see how its changed.

If only we had a PTE where we could test these out and determine what would be the best settings. SADLY, update 8 broke the meta. Black matter's attempts have made every component to the meta more taxing. So now the player yet again suffers MONTHS until something else is introduced and tweaked. Black matter seems determined to make THEIR game without public consideration. Proof is in the pudding, their product is half baked.

Yes, CTE was needed before they broke the meta with this shit update. They're money hungry, U8 is so broken but look @ steamcharts to see they've gained thousands of players from releasing before christmas. Releasing a broken update to the live servers is unacceptable. Waiting 5 months for the next update will destroy them. BM and their game are doomed to fail at this rate. U9 needs to either save the game or it will be the nail in the coffin. At this point, I hope they fail and with competition we can support a better development team.

Trust me, they care even less about veteran players. I hope U9 brings a killing blow to the game and popularity to other titles that deserve the attention.

@@alexanderdefender I can't agree. Post Scriptum is dead, squad takes too long to do anything, BFV is garbage, Verdun/OTW/etc have too little to offer. What other game is there that gives the immersion, gun gameplay, and overall challenge that HLL offers? Sure this game is trying to figure out its identity, but all those other games went thru rough patches. Just sayong...

@@KorbinX I agree with what you say, I have only ~70 hours between PS and Squad and they do have their shortcomings like you mention. I cannot even compare U8 HLL to the 400 hours I played previously. This game is a nightmare. The meta is destroyed. Defense is gimped in a capture/defend gamemode... As SL I used to be able to have influence over spawns or back ups. With the 200m garrison and support overhaul, it has taken over my gameplay. It is no longer feasible to create back up garrison's on defense because we will lose cap before I come back. I no longer fight with the squad, rather I am always trying to secure back up's garrisons. Black matter has made the game a logistical hell hole. Relying on command or support to perform my duties IS PAINFUL! This game feels like a job right now, with no reward. Black matter are not the developers we want right now. Their overhauls have contributed majorly to it's broken state. They don't even realize their game is broken and the players are left high and dry 2 months post launch waiting months on end for another revisit. 200m garrison increase made no sense when 150m was tried and they went to 100m after that... 100m to 200m increase... WTF ARE THEY THINKING?? They don't play or test their game. It took me a few hours to realize the shortcomings. Less spawns = less playing. HLL used to offer immersion, gameplay, and a challenge. Now it's some strange running construction simulator that gives me no satisfaction. If the SL/commander/support syngery is broken, the rest of the game suffers. The gameplay is shit, there's never spawns, no one playing defense, and matches end in 15 minutes because a 2 man recon team can wipe your whole defense. It's painfully obvious at this point BM and HLL are in ruins and U9 will either be it's saving grace or it's nail in the coffin. I cannot see BM suddenly getting their act together to create a functioning game. All of their revisions and overhauls have been failures. I cannot support BM in any way at this point, they have destroyed this game.

@@alexanderdefender I tend to agree with your statement about the Garrison distance, Logistics being derpy, and the fact that BM doesn't test their game. It's a shame that such an immersed game has all the problems it does. I get they are trying to get new players, but they need to retain their players too. The map layouts, although historical, offer only a limited number of places to place a "safe" garrison. They are beautiful, but realism and good gameplay rarely go hand in hand. I believe, and I may be wrong, that the game needs a fresh set of eyes on its development team. They need someone who can abstractly look at the issues present and offer ideas on how to "fix" the meta. Would be a challenge, but may be worth it

@@KorbinX Yes I agree. At this point they need to step back from new content and focus on the existing gameplay fluidity. It's amazing the video game industry is drifting further away from this. Making $ the focus has never netted success, except for the company that rips the consumer off. This feels like corporate take over yet again from a 15 man "small indie company".

It's the meta garrison and support overhaul tweaks that have destroyed the meta. As a vet SL, the tweaks have destroyed defensive value and make it impossible to play like you did in previous updates. I played 38 hours on this update and I uninstalled, I can't believe they've destroyed this game so much with such "minor" tweaks. Really opened my eyes up to BM developers and the true nature of this game. $_$ vision is what they're suffering from. New customers are higher value right now.

I honestly believe they neutered the tanks in update 8 for the influx of new players so they dont get absolutely rekt.And are just going to bring back the mechanics of how they were in update 7

Yes it unbearable, even with 440 hours of playtime. Who is supporting Black Matter anymore? They don't test or play their game. They release broken updates, one after another since U6. They overhaul mechanics and make them slower, less efficient. They created required roles that people don't want to play. I mean, at this rate, what don't they fuck up when they touch it?

@@alexanderdefender Yeah, it's the main problem. I've stop playing feb 2020 when PHL was release because the game was really crap. I came back before the last update. The Update 7 was really great, it was really fun the play it even if the game had problem. But now, with this new update, it's just not fun anymore. I believe than the game was even better before update 7 but i don't remember my feeling in feb 2020. Just than i saw nothing, everything was blurry and one camp had advantage in each map. Bill explain all the probleme, i still don't understand why they don't do something to equilibrate the frontline distance.

@@Sombre____ Yeah it's frustrating for sure. It's a series of bad decisions that has changed the game so drastically. I hope it can improve but there's no signs that it will.
