Powdered cappuccino in the bannock mix... now that's what I call bushcraft. So many folk equate this lifestyle/hobby/skillset to Rambo and "eating things that would make a billy-goat puke" makes tips like that truly priceless.

Great to see you’re doing well Dave. I would never watch dual survival unless you’re on the show. I can tell life is treating you well because you seem to have gained a little weight. It happens to the best of us. It only goes to prove that our Father in Haven takes care of children and old folks. Good Bless.

Another informative and entertaining video. I can't thank you enough. I have 100 or so cable channels but too often can't find anything worth watching. KZfaq is the new media and you are one of the pioneers. I'm sorry about DS, but your work here is better than TV ever was. God bless.

You are my inspiration, I am a 14 year old city boy and for 4 years I have been practicing Survival and when I found out about you I watched all your videos, your a great man in my opinion and one day I hope I could meet you, it would be like meeting The God of Survival, I have learned so much from you and I hope you realize the impact you have on young kids these days, some really need to be taught some good self-reliance, Thanks Again.

The knife Dave is using is the old style PLSK Scout made by Blind Horse Knives. The new PLSK Scout is available from Dave's web site, but it is Saber ground rather than flat ground. If you wanted one like the old style flat ground PLSK Scout you might be able to get one if you contact Blind Horse Knives directly. It would be a custom knife, but their prices are quite good for a custom knife maker. Expect to pay at least $250 for a knife that big.

I've done both travelled really light and brought everything under the sun while in the woods. It all depends on the season and lenght of time I'm heading out. I do a lot of camping all year round and really appreciate comfort when sleeping, so I don't go without my army cot and propane stove.

Nice tip on the the cap instead of milk. I make my bannock as a super food using a heart healthy vitamin enriched oatmeal, powdered eggs, and flower but its a bit low on total cals. So i was adding sugar, but the cap should up the cals. Well adding benefits the sugar can't.

That's the truth man. When I'm out in the woods, I eat less than half of what I eat at home and never feel hungry. It's so easy to pre-mix and carry some kind of flour based concoction for biscuits, muffins, or bread. I've learned to make one big old muffin at a time using the Pathfinder SS cup, aluminum foil, the cook ring. One of those bad boys smeared with honey keep me going all day.
