‪@XanderBudnick‬ and I spend two nights camping on the East side of Georgian Bay, Ontario. Due to periodic lake effect snow we get our first substantial snowfall of the season.
I only used one or two branch's from each hemlock tree in the area.

Not only do you have to haul yourselves and your gear to your destination, but make camp, build a shelter, harvest wood, build fire, find water, feed yourselves... all while creating complex narratives with lots of setup, travel past, double back, fetch camera, etc. And somehow you do all this without getting in each other's shots, and without neglecting everything else you have to do to not be miserable. So much work, but so awesome to watch! Thank you.

great Video , love the relationship you and your brother have , only reason I mention that my brother and I are estranged. It saddens me :( Great job on the shelter so far ,I'm sure you will be back to finish it. I watched Zanders Video and got a little misty when he talked about his sobriety , Good on him. I am pretty sure YOU played a big part in his success. You are his corner stone , A constant , someone who never let a brother down.. Its in your nature.

@@maximbudnick Haha I wish we could have seen more of what it was like under the shelter, and how you looked upon waking up after the night of snow. But looks like this may be the part 1 to another trip back or so, so maybe another opportunity still to come. Was there a point in the night where you were weighing the stank of Xander's extra tarp vs you possibly being completely covered in snow while sleeping?

Don't know where you draw the line as to what's not allowable... But a Goretex bivy would make that shelter totally workable. Mine was basically a bag my sleeping bag and Thermarest fit inside. No poles or hoops like the style that makes basically a tiny one person tent. Used mine in similar shelters winter camping, dugouts in the snow, even just in the open when there was no snow falling. Game changer for winter camping. But I can respect not wanting to use one in favor of trying other strategies. Awesome to watch you guys trying different approaches.
