By this sense, IITJEE also does the same 😂. Every year 10 lakh students pay for entry and write an exam. 10 lakh students are competing simultaneously to find right answers. The entire entry fee money is kept by the organization. And only few students out of 10 lakh actually get selected. Everything (jee or dream11) is a business at the end of the day and they are supposed to make money off us

My friend won 2cr recently... Last time I played Dream11 was 2 years ago. Recently someone from my neighborhood won 2cr (*1cr40lack:) Everyone nearby got very hyped up & every friends or non-friend who doesn't played a single ball in our chawl in his whole life started making team on Dream11. Shocking fact was, after listening the news, my mum told me to play. It literally took me 10 minutes to explain her that it's JUAA/lottery. Seeing everyone play just make me really SAD. I am happy that I don't play anymore, all thanx to Sanskar & especially watching Jethalal in my childhood

Hi Pranjal, loved your take on this. Video showed you studied the app instead of just pointing out anything. One thing i thought you forgot to take into consideration was the small one to one contests or contest with lower number of contestants which have around more than 50 sometimes even upto 70% of winning chances which cause the user to indulge more into it , would have loved if you would have decipher that point as well.

This is a good point. The answer is, if the probability of winning is high, then the margin of win will be extremely low. Ex: if your chance of winning is 70% and ticket is 100 Rs, then the amount to win might be 110 Rs or 120 Rs, which is again worthless.

Very nice and informative video 2 din se I have been using cricket betting app and I felt that its algorithm inka computer jo bhi best players playing Unko apne aap select krke ek team bna dega with kuch bhi naam and a random photo that’s all and also roz 3,4 log CRpati ban rehe hain acc. To thm to kahan hai vo CRPati why media and news don’t cover thm why don’t they in front and tell that I won CR it’s 100% legal and taxable income they earned thn what’s the point ki last 1,2 saal jab se yeah Satta apps hai humein around 600,700 CR pati milehain but still can’t find thm can’t see can’t thm. Hello pranjal sir , been working into public domain from a very long time what ive noticed is mostly people who are using such betting or fantasy apps comes from a very below average background, i have seen multiple people making teams and discussing in the group in a teir 3 citited but i have hardly seen such people in metro cities , secondly education also plays a huge role in this ❤

8/10 - I think it's an overall good message. Just one point to add, people and especially young people are not only losing money but most importantly their time and mental efforts on these platforms which could be leveraged at young age into so many good things. Also, I see parallels of the problems these betting platforms create with multiple other things the video rightly mentioned like smoking, drinking, etc. People need to make these decisions, we cannot ask government to ban things for us. A very similar example is legalizing marijuana, we need to be culturally firm to learn what's sustainable for us and people around us. I believe awareness is the best tool we have currently to built a culture which I believe is the solution to these problems rather asking government or supreme to make laws. Proof - If you were to ask founders or CEO's any big companies like Google, Amazon, Tata, etc one common reason of their success is that they were able to built a sustainable organizational culture and not because they invented something, worked hard, or had a breakthrough idea.

The problem is however, that people, especially vulnerable people are enticed into making poor decisions. We've banned ads and pushing of alcohol and cigarettes, not completely but surely. 9/10 I loved the comparsion with KBC and lottery. Skill and chance. The fact is Dream11 is 99% chance and 1% skill. The only point I want to add - in KBC the contestant is directly playing. Its his skill. In Dream11, he is betting on the skill and luck of other players. So it definitely can't be compared to KBC. Hence Supreme Court's judgement that its a skill - I respectfully disagree. I hope the court reviews its decision and treats it as a lottery

Loved the video. 8/10 stars. I thought you would include the mathematical aspect of finding the right combinations of 11 players out of 22 players. Simple Google search would tell there are 705432 combinations can be made for a team of 11 people out of 22. And if you consider picking the right Captain and VC and the new impact player rule in IPL, the odds would grow multifold

what you told applies only to mega GL which is lottery league , but the other leagues you need skill to win and its similar like trading only ,not all contests in d11 are lottery leagues
