Even when you sample you still have to clear, credit, and pay. This is a way to steal from peers which is NOT cool. You'd understand if you were a melody maker, composer, or musician.
@whynot7191
@whynot7191 Жыл бұрын
@@yuufeternal5837 nah you just grew up in a buble of what you think music is, and it shows. You're making excuse because you see other people do it. You're basically saying you do whats popular because everone else does. You're a follower. There was a time when musicians had to MAKE their own music only using unique ideas from their mind. You would know this if you were a musician.

@@Xeroform you literally dont need to credit anyone for a short loop. you cant own the rights to a melody. do you know how many people a producer would have to credit? especially in genres like hip-hop. however if its a full on multi-tracked instrumental piece than thats a different story.

@@liamdubalmusic @Requiem You guys are right. I was just going from memory of using a few loops from a popular free site , and the producer who made them *asked* to be tagged credited, but now that I think of it more, he said it in a way like it would be a cool favor/ not required tho.

"While you may use loops in your own productions / tracks / video soundtracks etc you can NOT claim copyright of those loops as is or as part of your original composition. You may claim copyright of your composition but NOT of any content that is downloaded from looperman." meaning you would have to credit the loops creator in the copyright. It has nothing to do with the song title being too long. You would only need to credit the Co-Producer/Ghost Producer in the copyright metadata.

Music already has so many variations of note combinations that even if you “stole” a sample; as long as you change some part about it to fit your sound, your style, and your track then it’s fair use and it’s making something your own. Don’t let people tell you that taking a public file, credit or not, is stealing or copying. Make it urs n have fun makin it. Loops helped me get started on my 6 years of producing. Why should that stop me from doing what I love?

This is usually fine though, or at least the type of electronic music that I love has always sampled and borrowed from all over and been straight up about it. I just downloaded this jungle sample pack this week and noticed that the song ‘dubby’ by DJ Rashad featuring Danny brown is almost entirely just like 5 or so loops from the sample pack, about half of them chopped up a little bit but otherwise unaltered. It’s a great song though, and the arrangement of those samples is very clever and makes it what it is.

You realize that even though a lot of producers in the industry can make a melody most just choose not to or they go for the absolute bare minimum because that’s what the most artist like to rap or sing over anyway or they just use a sample or someone’s loop. there’s no right way to go about making music, as long as it bangs and whatever artist you’re giving it to is happy that’s all that matters besides of of the hit songs and fire songs, come from samples and loops from other people or again. A super bare minimum but catchy melody

@Wetness12 No, music isn't about changing a sound you steal, that's sampling and working with digital audio. Music per se is nothing to do with the technology. And making something "better" is purely subjective and why you don't work in the industry.
