i was in a very very verbally and emotionally manipulative and abusive relationship for multiple months on end. he always told me i was the second choice, that if he and this other girl didn’t work out, he’d choose me. young and dumb, i fell for it but was too afraid to leave. eventually, i escaped after lots of encouragement from friends. thankfully nothing ever physical happened but i have no doubt that it coulda gotten physical if we fought the way we did in person. so yeah.
