Think of the time and material that goes into building an inch and a half thick Hard Maple butcher block countertop. In this episode of Today’s Craftsmen, Jeff and Rob discuss the option of buying versus building a Butcher Block Counter. Starting with a track saw and then and then a panel saw Jeff and Rob will demonstrate how to cut the countertop to size and finish a manufactured butcher block countertop. There’s a lot of great tips in this one and we hope you enjoy the show. Thanks for watching!

My local lumber supplier does glueups and wide belt sanding of wide boards and butcher block tops. It is so worth asking them to make it from whatever species and then I do final cuts/finishing.

Gotta ask, did you use your worse blade for dramatic effect? I don't own a track saw but I gotta think a new or slightly used blade would have been fine. Your trying to get Striebige as a sponsor aren't ya.😮
@TodaysCraftsmen

The blade wasn’t new but definitely still has a lot of life. Maybe a different tracksaw would have more power.

Down to the exact size? No. They do sell different sizes. A 30x120 would’ve been the closest but they didn’t have a 30 in stock!

Wait so the stop has a micro adjustment dial but then the actual saw position gets locked just by eyeballing that red marker? Or is it a hard factory stop you cant miss?
