A lot of famlies don't wrap the presents from Santa, but they wrap the ones from themselves. It's not just a Butler tradition.

I saw the Bingham don't wrap either except this year as kids requested from Santa to be wrapped. I too from canada

We always wrap presents in my family and I'm from America. I guess it just depends on the family. Kind of like how some people wear shoes in their houses and others don't in America. No religious or cultural reason, just what some families do.

@@HouseMDaddict Thanks for responding! I just thought it odd that the gifts don't seem to be wrapped in the Butler videos, a family preference I guess. It seems so much more exciting to unwrap presents. We here in Canada have a sort of strict tradition of always removing your shoes before entering someone's house. If you don't it's regarded as very disrespectful. I was born in England and when we emigrated here our family thought the "shoe" tradition very odd, it felt weird that everyone was in their stocking feet. I think the tradition comes from our harsh weather, and in order to keep the carpets and floors clean, we remove our shoes, I'm not sure where the tradition originated, but it has stuck. When I have visited friends in the USA they have always been puzzled as to why I removed my shoes. They don't know what to do with the shoes once taken off. I laugh and say just keep them by the front door. When assured by my American friends that I may keep my shoes on I always respond by saying it would make me deeply uncomfortable to do so, as in our culture it would be so very disrespectful.

@@juliebrandt4425 I've never understood the shoes in the house thing either (even when people say they do it because they have floors instead of carpets). Growing up,my mom and I would put a towel by the door for people to put their wet/salty/dirty shoes and even still some people would just walk on the carpet and it drove us nuts because we'd always be barefoot or wear socks in the house, so people dragging dirt and wetness in, sucked. Thankfully most maintenance people now wear those "booties" that go over their shoes and keep the carpets dry and clean. I always take my shoes off in my home and other people's homes. My friends with nicer/cleaner homes, I get no weird response from taking my shoes off. For the dirty floor houses, I'm sort of grateful they insist I keep my shoes on because I'd hate to get my socks dirty or stab my toe on their scary floors (I had a friend in college that lived in a place with screws sticking up out of the floor and mud and dirty and dog hair all over the floors).
