Usually a few minutes, but with children, about two hours as you have to get them away from the play park 😉

@@allthingslife6530 allow twice as long as you think to get anywhere because you have to navigate parks, rides and shows. And when it says get there 30 minutes before, you will need to, people can start queuing an hour before it starts for the early evening shows as they are very popular.

I think you will, we had a great time and have four more breaks booked because we loved it so much. We haven't been in summer holidays yet but the entertainment looked really good last year.

You should definately go. The new pool is brilliant, we spent a lot of time on the slides and flumes. It would be great if they had room for a few more adult rides though.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. The new pool at Bognor is fab, I like the paddling pool flume. The night time entertainment is very good, I think they have a glow in the dark dance show now that looks amazing. We're going to Minehead next year 😊

The fairground is perfect for children, and I love that it's included on the price so the kids can go on the rides as much as they like.

@@KarionTravelling I think the whole butlins experience,I have flash backs from childhood in the 70s.

I think you'll enjoy it. There's none of the old knobbly knee competitions or beauties in bathing suits. The daytime entertainment is a little cheesy, but it's aimed at children. The evening shows we saw were really good, and the bar service was very quick 😉

I dont remember the dodgeums, but I might have been too young to go on them. I remember the mexican hat and the waltz and the Ocean hotel used to be an outside swimming pool that was always ice cold 🥶

That sounds amazing, when we go back I will go and see, hopefully it will be open. They have something similar at the Aztec hotel in Chessington World of Adventures.

@@KarionTravelling Sorry that was in the 1970s. It seems to have been replaced by the "Beachcomber Inn". I don't know if they still have any special effects.

I grew up at Butlins too. It was lovely going back and seeing what had changed. 😊

That's so sad, I'm amazed people still get away with that sort of thing nowadays too. I had my hair cut at that salon over 20 years ago. I remember looking through the book and telling the stylist I wanted 'that hair' and pointing to a picture of girl with a very low ponytail held in place with a bow and the stylist explaining that wasn't a cut it was a hair style. 😊

I too have very fond memories of Butlins as a child so it was strange being back as an adult. Different but familiar at the same time. I cant wait to visit Minehead and Skegness if this pandemic ever ends. Would you visit Butlins again?

Definitely visiting Butlins again, might not be what is used to be but Butlins is still amazing

Me too, I went for the first time in over 20 years last year and loved it so much. I had three holidays cancelled in Feb/March and I'm currently waiting to see when I can get April and May's breaks rebooked. I have three breaks at Bognor for later in the year which I'm keeping my finger crossed still go ahead. I haven't been to Minehead or Skegness yet but they are on my list for next year. @@KarionTravellingThey should do there allowed to open from 17th May boris said. I know I had February half term and Easter book but mine got cancelled too. I always book 2 breaks together then I get it cheaper lol plus I'm a gold premier member so I get £30 of butlins vouchers for 3/4 nights which I spend on coffees and kids activities and £50 vouchers if I go for 7 nights. But they won't give you them unless you ask for them I got my silver after my 6 or 7 th time of going I think, now im gold. But they won't give them you unless you ask for them. But yes you have to have been at least 7 times before you can get them and you have to ask for them.

We would have been members but our holidays have been postponed, hopefully by the end of the year. 😊

I think younger children have loads to do, teens are slightly restricted unless you pay for the outside activities. I would like to stay when they have the big headliners like Diversity, but I don't think I'd enjoy it being so busy.

I remember being there in the late 80s early 90s and it has changed quite a bit. They have just knocked down the splash building to make an outdoor entertainment space. I remember eating a malted roll in the plaza and then going swimming and trying to drown each other in the rapids 🤣

U used to rock broadway with the late night disco....... worked there 94-96 and 2000..... difference between the 2 time periods was alot...... wont go back and work there now, just remembering the monday club, bottle of cache, payday night at wetherspoons in boggy and all the people I knew there who sadly I'll never see again..... loads of butlins 96 vids on my youtube channel.... keep safe

@@smehmet21 I haven't stayed in any of the hotels yet as our breaks were postponed last year. But I can say the food in the catered restaurants was fine, plenty of choice and always hot.

Adults can go on the tugboat and the carousel horses, but I think the rest are child only, but they are strapped in and the staff were very good in stopping the ride if a child wasn't happy.

Have you been before? We're just waiting to rebook our dates that have been cancelled due to the pandemic. I've not been in August yet, but the entertainment looks really good.

I think it's slightly more geared towards families if you're planning to spend all day at the resort, you might run out of things to do if you're not interested in the kid friendly daytime shows. Have you thought about trying an adult only music weekend? I think there might be more to keep you entertained. It's on my list to try later this year. 😊

When we stayed we just had to social distance in the queue and you food was plated by a server at the counter. You can go up as many times as you like and ask for small/ large portions. The only difference was you didn't handle the serving utensils yourself. I hope you have a fabulous holiday, we can't wait to go back later this year 😊

If you book direct it usually includes accommodation, food package (if purchased), bedding, electricity, access to the shows/entertainment, funfairs, and pool. Some of the outside activities e.g. go-karts, mini-golf, etc have an additional charge.

Yes you do. I think prices were similar to what you'd pay on the high street. I only tried an ice cream sundae and it was about £1.99.

It's quite different now, they have just knocked down the old swimming pool and are turning it into an entertainment venue. I remember having breakfast in the Plaza and then spending the day in the pool in the rapids or going down the flumes on the yoga matts that had bite marks.
