Those are the first tools I got too, but not the giant gel coloring kit. Every time I go to Hobby Lobby I pick out a few new colors to get as a treat to play with. I love the cake tips you give us. Your advice is bringing beautiful cakes into the world. My coworkers love it when I bring a new cake idea into work for them to eat.

Question! Do all buttercreams stiffen in the fridge? When I buy cakes from the store, the frosting doesn’t solidify in the fridge, but my homemade buttercream does 😢 am I doing something wrong?

Store-bought cakes don't have any butter in the frosting but buttercream made with butter will get hard in the fridge, just like a stick of butter would. I always recommend taking cakes out of the fridge 2-4 hours before you serve them so that they warm up to room temperature and the cake and buttercream will soften and taste the best!

One tip for anyone looking into buying new cake pans that don't cost a ton but are very good and trusted ... not dishwasher safe tho! Fat Daddios !! Trust me !! When you use darker pans you get darker more caramelized edges and when you use aluminum ones (light silver) they arent so dark on the edges. Of course b/c they are made from different material ect. Hope this helps someone, i absolutely wish I knew it sooner! ❤
