Produced by far the most memorable slwo-motion-dreamshots ive ever done and to this tay always itches me to shoot something with it - the dynamic range couples with the 100fps in 10bit Log just doesnt get old… i grew a lot with this camera and still im often surprised how good the image drom This camera looks when i grade it…my true Love camera! :)

@learningcameras Loved the video and I wish I could take some video creating course from you one day 😂 which do you recommend if I want a camera for stills and one for video sony a7rv and an fx3 OR A7rv and nikon z8. I recently bought the former but I feel it was stupid to have two diff brands. What do you think? I transitioned from a nikon d850 to a sony 7r5 and two weeks later the z8 came out 🤦🏻‍♀️

Appreciate that! Yes, if you can have 1 photo and 1 video camera, Sony has a bit of an edge with a more purpose built for video FX3 and the A7RV which is an amazing photography camera. The Nikon Z8 does both extremely well so if you're comfortable with Nikon, I'd be tempted to start with a single Z8 and see how that works. I'd give the edge in autofocus to Sony still but Nikon has come a long way and is good enough for most situations

Thanks! So I wouldn't say it's gone but I don't seem to notice it much. My guess is that the R6II has the faster readout sensor and updated processor which helps and the IBIS overall seems improved. But if you use a 15mm lens, I think you'll still see it a little

Nicely done, Dan. Thank you. I use the Canon R5, over 95% of my use is macro stills of plants & insects (I'm a biologist). It's nearly perfect for my stills needs. If it did in-camera auto focus bracketing *with* flash, it'd be perfect (oddly, the flash is disabled during auto focus bracketing; BTW, OM Systems has it).

I'm just happy that the R6 Mark II is getting the recognition it deserves. It seems like when the overheating issues fueled by terrible marketing was solved when the Mark II was released people just ignored this impressive camera overall. I'm getting sick of people overreacting about the lack of 3rd party lenses because if they were with other brands they would be willing to shed the same amount of cash(if not close) to the prices of available RF L glass anyways, like stop kidding yourselves G Master fanboys. I'm a proud owner of an R6 Mark 1 with RF 24-105 F/4 L and an Atomos Ninja V system for video.

Yeah, I think Canon really suffered from the overheating and record limits of the OG R6 and R5 and I'm positive they could have designed those cameras in a way to not have that issue so it was unfortunate. I mostly agree with the lens point....I'd say for high end cameras (Canon R5+), most users will gravitate towards native lenses. 3rd party lenses are great though for stepping stones for lower cost systems and people just getting in to a new camera system. But occasionally there are some 3rd party lenses these days that are actually good lenses or that fill a gap 1st party lenses don't have. I love the Tamron 35-150 F2.8 and Sigma makes some solid prime lenses these days. It used to be that 3rd party lenses were just cheap sub par lenses but now there are a growing number that are actually good and occasionally even better than full frame. I definitely hope Canon opens the lens mount but I still recommend purchasing their cameras even if they don't

That used to be the case...before the Mac M1 chips and the most recent intel ships, editing h.265 (the only codec option in most Canon cameras) was a nightmare. But if you have a Mac with an M1 chip or later or a PC with the latest intel 14th gen processors, you should be good. H.265 is very high quality and takes up less space, but it's taxing on the computer processor. Otherwise Sony let's you shoot in both h.264 and h.265

YUP YUP YUP! Got the R6 Mark II last November after a year of research (and 18 years as a pro photographer) and it's THE best camera I've EVER used by far! I had no time for the body and 4K crop on the A7IV or the S5II in 2023... no more crops. I shoot mainly 4K60 and the R6 II has the best on the market (tied with the R3). As for resolution, for the very rare time I need it, I use AI upscale to get far better looking 45 MP images from my R6 II than I could get from native R5 files.... though for 99.9% of things 24 MP is more than enough (I've had billboards made with 8 MP Canon 1D IIN files that looked spectacular... MP is mostly marketing hype at this point). And Soundcore are my favourite earbuds too! I've had a few and now have the Liberty Air 2s and they are the best for balanced sound, price and fit (most earbuds don't come with XL eartips so I can't get a seal, but Soundcore do). Plus their support is stellar! I bought the Liberty Air 2s last fall and they were faulty, so Soundcore shipped me a new pair and refunded me fully my payment!

Nailed it! Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised that other than the $6500 A1, Sony doesn't have a camera that can shoot a decent photo resolution and 4k60 full frame. I think that should have been mandatory for the A7IV even if they had to reduce the resolution. Seriously, the Soundcore blew me away! I expected decent sound but I didn't expect them to be competing with $300 earbuds
@77dris

@@learningcameras The R6 Mark II is the most underrated camera I've seen in a LONG time. Despite being better all around than cameras like the S5II and A7IV, it gets almost none of the press that they do. Even Canon influencers barely covered the R6 II release (Pete Mc only did a pReview). The R8 actually gets way more attentions and promo, and DXOmark still hasn't done a test on the R6 II but they have done one on the R8. Ugh. Yes they are supposed to be the same sensor, but that doesn't always mean exact same results (5D IV and EOS R is a good example). Soundcore doesn't do all the promos that companies like Soundpeats and others do so I don't think they are well known and also don't get the recognition they deserve.

@learningcameras 10 ай бұрын
Well, if you also need a monitor/recorder with HDMI you're actually adding more $$$ to the setup and most full size HDMI full frame cameras are more than the R6II. Although I definitely mentioned the micro HDMI in my review because I literally broke my cable on the first day shooting with a recorder mounted to it. Panasonic will have cameras that meet my needs soon but full frame 4k60 with solid autofocus performance in a hybrid camera is not something they currently have. Nikon is actually the best upgrade with the Z8 right now. Sony doesn't allow a clean feed either so I think Panasonic and maybe Nikon are the only ones that do

I think you forgot that the Fujifilm XH2s is literally an APSC crop sensor camera. Every frame rate is a crop from full frame. It will use the entire sensor in full frame but that entire sensor is significantly smaller than full frame thus a crop

@philippedidomizio631 10 ай бұрын
@@learningcameras Hello Dan, You are correct. I apologize for any confusion in my previous statement. The Fujifilm XH2s is indeed an APS-C crop sensor camera, and every frame rate utilizes a crop from the full frame. While it uses the entire sensor area in full frame mode, it's essential to remember that the entire sensor is considerably smaller than a full-frame sensor. As a result, it results in a crop effect on the image. Thank you for pointing that out, and I appreciate the clarification.

What about dynamique range in védio R6ii vs R5c

Hi Dan, How does the R62 compare to the R5C as the codecs on R5C is better then R5 and better DR as Gerald showed on one or his video? Btw, scrolling through your comments and saw some saying you promote too much. Why do you need to be apologetic when it’s for your income and living. Maybe just say upfront to remind those who are clueless and/or inconsiderate. Not kissing up but appreciate all the free content and learnings from this channel. Takes a lot of work and time and for what its worth, I appreciate it and have zero complaints Note: I shoot both Sony and Canon and notice you added the ZV-E1 which I recently bought for $1850 from B&H as “good as new” (looks like a buyer returned it probably because he/she had overheating or didn’t like it). Good for me as I have no issues with it. Popped in a Black Hive active cooling fan on Ali Express and can add 25-50% more continuous run time depending on the resolution and codecs used. Tilta is coming out with one and will pick it up too as I used on R5 and get double the run time on high mode. I have been thinking of the R62 but seeing what the R52 will bring and remove the stupid 30min recording limit. This pisses me off more than Canon not allowing 3rd party partners to come out with more affordable RF lenses as the ones Canon has are awesome, albeit big and heavy. Other annoying one is the micro HDMI which is the weakest. At least give it mini HDMI but why not move straight to HDMI so I can skip the 30min recording limit. Anyways, if R52 doesn’t solve for this, the R62 is a great option for me as a B-cam.

And I’m guessing that it does not have a lot of the tools a video shutter would want like setting shutter angles and color monitors etc. Thanks for the intro to this camera!

@@Sneaky-Sneaky Unfortunately Canon and Sony don't do open gate or multiple aspect ratios in their photo cameras. The Sony FX series shoots DCI 4k but not open gate. Panasonic is amazing with those features, I'm just waiting for them to release a camera with phase autofocus and FF 4k60. The new Panasonic S5II is awesome but 4k60 is still a crop and autofocus is good but not quite Canon/Sony good. Nikon’s Z8 would be the closest to what you want, otherwise you need a camera more purpose built for video, not really a hybrid camera

I use and recommend a bunch of different systems. My main cameras these days are Sony, but if you want a hybrid full frame camera that can do photo and video, I'm recommending Canon for now until Sony has full frame 4k60 at least. Sony has great video cameras and great photo cameras, but they tend to not do both as well as Canon these days

You can literally skip it and this video is free to watch! Lol, I'm always fascinated by the expectation of free content. In order to make videos which cost me time and money, I have to pay for rent and food somehow right? If I got paid by Canon for this, that would be a conflict of interest and youtube ad revenue is a joke so I appreciate companies like Anker that support my channel so I can buy dinner for the fam and keep making content!

@@learningcameras Bingo. People complain about everything! I'd rather have an in video promo than the annoying KZfaq ads that can't be skipped (unless I use an adblocker which I cannot on my Apple TV).

@@77dris Thing is a recently subbed for KZfaq Premium to not see ads anymore. But the ads creators do are still there and sometimes kind of annoying. But yeah I understand it helps increasing revenue. I'd pay some extra amount to also not have creator ads in like every video ^-^
