Nathan Rothschild, the founder of the Rothschild banking dynasty, was famous for saying, "Buy when there is blood in the streets." Today's modern legends, such as Warren Buffett, use a similar methodology.
Rothschild used this strategy to great effect during the Napoleonic Wars. While other investors were panicking and selling their stocks, Rothschild was buying them up at a discount. He made a fortune when the stock and bond markets recovered after the war.
We can learn a lot from Nathan Rothschild's trade, but how do we measure "good in the street?" A modern method is to analyze extremely negative and pessimistic Time Magazine covers.

Matt, thank you for this great presentation. I like the calmness in which you presented the strategy. I have been using this strategy in a conservative way buying the SPY and it has worked positively on average. Sometimes I have fallen deeper for not to wait for the follow thru day. Last week I bought the SPY at $410 and I just sold it today at around $418. In retrospect, I should have waited for the follow thru and I shouldn’t have sold it after a follow thru day yesterday and now that the Fed scenario looks more promising. But sometimes you see a decent profit on the board and cannot resist the temptation to take it. Thanks again and I’ll be looking forward for your upcoming videos.

this recent low is what ive been looking for, solid buying coming in, breakouts are appearing in tech and oil n gas, definitely enough blood has been spilled to sweep em up n keep on moving to the upside 🎉

Hey Matt, I would be curious to hear your thoughts on how you interpret the Net Highs/Lows in an environment such as this. I know that net highs usually complement a healthy bull market, but how do you interpret the movements of the indicator when it moves back and fourth from net highs to net lows?

Late 1700s and Napoleonic Wars. Was talking about how to finance basically World War 1 "of then" not talking about buying stocks as we think of that today. Some of this debt took literally Centuries to pay off. This is why The West no longer is on a gold standard though #odious_debt
