Since my Nissan 300zx decided to take a turn for the worse I made the smart move on getting a reliable 4 cylinder daily driver...the cheapest Miata I could find/afford...way to make a smart move...XD

i miss the days of decent running 1000 dollar miatas as a norm , now days finding a running one for cheap is harder to get , im glad you were able to pick this one up for a good price and glad to see that it will get some work ive owned 6 miatas myself from stock, to turbo to supercharged and in any form they were all a joy to drive . with dedicated snow tyres they did great in winter and stayed warm inside past 50 below . hard tops are well worth it if you can find one

I had the same idle issue but I fixed it. Unplug the throttle position sensor for 10 mins, plug it back in so it resets the sensor, start the car and let it idle til it gets to warm temp or 3 mins. Turn off and do it again and it should be calibrated

Thanks man! I just use an old a6000 I had. I had an a7iii at some point but I broke it so I had to switch back. Better than a phone for sure 😅

Get em while you can, people are starting to ask crazy crazy money for em. I remember not that long ago you could find plenty for under $1k, now everyone is asking $5k or more for a not so good example 🫠

Try tightening down the soft top latches, common that they go lose. Causing a leaking like the one you had in the car wash

do go through your average car wash, the spinny brush things can actually scratch your car and it is better to just hand wash it :)

If it's your first car I still say $2k-4k is still a great buy, I used fb marketplace too. Got an owner that didn't know the issue of his car regardless of how simple or complex this issue was and that just let me get lucky lol. If you got the mechanical knowledge then it's rly just a hunt for someone who doesn't have time for their project...if not then I'd suggest up the budget
