I decided to hop on the chinese mini excavator band wagon. So far i'm not disappointed. They're certainly not ready to go out of the box, but if you haven some basic mechanical skills, i think these things are pretty value packed if you can pick one up at the right price. In this video we'll pick up the machine from the auction yard, bring it home and do the initial required modifications, and test it out digging out a stump. Much more to come with this little guy! Stay tuned! Enjoy!

I have the same model. I moved my throttle cable from where it was (about 1.5 inch from pivot point) to the outside by the choke on/off control. I used the same clamp holding the choke cable, conduit to hold my throttle cable, conduit. (Choke on the bottom and the throttle on top) and drilled a hole in the throttle lever (B&S 13.5 hp). I added (not really needed but felt better doing so) a spring from an old lawnmower carb, for a help on return. I now have about 2/3 (instead of 3/4 of a inch) of my control changing the speed and can control the unit better.

My fan is wired to a relay wired to the ACC on the key switch. I also have a attic fan thermostat switch that cuts the fan on when the temp gets over 100 degrees

My one suggestion is to remove the two ends of the grease tubes under the floor board and pump grease until until you see grease come out and then re-attach them. On mine I found that there wasn't much grease in the two tubes and I had to pump a lot of grease in before it finally started oozing out. When looking the fittings facing the front, the fitting on the right side is for the swing gear. Can put a shot of grease, then rotate the machine a little and put another shot, rotate more and put another shot etc to coat the entire gear. The one on the left is for the bearings which doesn't need a whole lot of grease. As for that stump, you could have lowered your thumb and grabbed it. Your machine will have no problem lifting it right off the ground. I have a Landhero as well. Mine has a slightly different body, I have the 'counter weight' like the AGT H12 which I call a bumper because it isn't really all that heavy. And your hydraulic lines are inside the boom which is nice, mine are on the outside. And your motor has the exhaust pointing the right way, on mine the exhaust goes sideways :-/ For me the in-tank filters are good enough. A spin on filter would be nice, easy to change and probably a smaller micron filter element. Thus far I love mine, the only thing I don't like is it's slow speed. I think all of these Chinese minis are slow.

All great suggestions, thank you! I was actually surprised at how well everything was greased on this machine. In fact, I havent had any of the common issues that you see coming up on the forums. I've been lucky so far. Everything was greased well and I havent found a single loose piece of hardware yet. The fact that the hydraulic lines are inside the boom is what kept me bidding on this machine during the auction. I really do like that. I should've tried to pick the stump with the thumb. Truly I wouldve been surprised if it wouldve picked it up. I moved the stump with my 25hp Mitsubishi tractor and the weight from the stump was causing the rear tires to come off the ground. It was far heavier than I thought. I did just pick up a pile of attachments for it so I'm looking forward to trying them all out soon. Thanks again for the tips!

Slow is an understatement. These things move GLACIALLY slowly. Can be very frustrating. Love mine too.

Ive seen them by the hundreds at all and any auction house across North America. Thats where i found mine. Some guys buy as many as they can then flip them privately after putting their own local brand sticker on them and sell for 3x the cost at auction house. I paid $5000cad last yr and this yr ive seen them go for as low as $2700cad at the lower traffic auctions. And winter time also. 😅 Thanks for your tips by the way. Ive seen the auctions now also have pallets full of all the attachments. You might want to pick up a pallet full of all the different buckets and augers for a few hundred vs over $1000 each from a local flipper! I also contacted a few of the manufacturers that make them over seas and cant seem to chisel them down low enough on price to justify just watching the auctions. The guy thats pumping them into the auctions i wonder how hes making money!?!? Its got to cost a bunch to get then shipped also… plus customs etc… 🤷🏻‍♂️🥴 he must get them for under $2k each with a big order of 2500 piece or something like that.

Awesome mod that back door. Regarding filter. I would plumb in the filter on that return line, cut it and press in the fittings you want and need to get in and out of that filter housing. Then that connecting fitting to the tank will still fit. Saves you the job of switching fittings on the tank. Hope it makes sence. Great video

I have a AGT qh12, changed the oil at about 10 hours, oil looked and smelled ok. I now have 40 hours and other than the swing motor bolts backing out I have had no issues. I added a fan and so far haven’t overheated - it would boil the gas in 20 minutes of hard work prior. I modified the thumb strut attachment using a bolt with an r clip so now I can change the thumb position without tools. Next best thing to a hydraulic thumb!

Glad yours is holding up well. I cant believe I havent found any loose hardware on mine yet. So far no complaints. I've done the same thing to my thumb though I see a hydraulic thumb in my future. Seems like these little things will take care of you as long as you take care of them.

Interesting comment regarding the oil, heard years ago that the motorcycles coming from Japan had fish oil in the forks and it was indeed recommended to change it immediately.

I've heard some people say whatever comes in the crankcase on these is vegetable based, but I have no idea if that's true. It smelled like a cross between WD40 and PB blaster. I've also seen several instances on the forums of people not changing it immediately and blowing the engines after 5 hours or less of use.

Battery is under the floor board The hyd window is in both Celsius and Ferenhight and throw the floor matt away … the winds just going to take it anyways 😂. I noticed the front track guide gear on mine is out of alignment. All the teeth are inside the track. Make sure yours is nice and tight before you got out working it to hard. Ive only done about as much as you did in this video. Removed a stump! Im learning also. I think they are a great little machine for home owners to tinker with. The only people ive ever heard talk badly about them is the people who dont own them! Theres plenty of guys making videos that have operated caterpillars and deere … who compare to these in said videos and they to say these are great little machines!!! Even out outperforms a little kubota in one video i saw.

I just bought a Miva va12. Seems identical in construction. Nice video of the door hinge install. Was thinking about the fan too, but am concerned with overtaxing the charging system. The grease fittings were junk, but usable. It had not been greased at all at the factory. used nearly a whole tube filling it up. Does anything on the tracks need grease? I didn't get a manual with mine. The tracks are twitchy as hell and run best at low engine rpm + full open valves. The house and boom hydraulics are smooth if you go easy on the sticks. Won't do much till September as it is 110 degrees outside now.

Just a suggestion should put fan on othere side bc that's the same way the air is blowing from the fan inside the motor it's self blowing over the cycliner head on left side

Doesnt seem like a bad deal at 23,900 considering the warranty. Little out of my price range at the moment. I'm impressed with the little land hero so far. Does what I need it to and I like the fact that I can practically rebuild the entire thing with tools I already own. But its definitely a gateway drug. Really want a bigger diesel unit now lol.

Is that an actual B&S engine or a chinese knock off?
@NorthwoodsNoise
@NorthwoodsNoise 16 күн бұрын
@@jhughes3867 it is an actual briggs engine but I believe it was manufactured in china. They've moved a percentage of their manufacturing to china in recent years so I'd be surprised if this engine was made anywhere else but I cant say for sure.
