Your advice on the VC is exactly what I tell people to do if they can. Save up, get a grail or high end if you like it, and THEN enjoy the ‘hobby’ with lower priced watches.

Panerai is a good choice, it is a fun watch with a lot of history and can be dressed up or down according to strap which is very easy to change. VC is the best however, the black seems boring and it is relatively easy to source one, if it was the blue one it would be a different story. Starting your collection with a very expensive purchase is not advisable as one should be more experienced and determined for such purchase especially when watches like VC don't retain their value very well.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas is the most beautiful sport watch in the world. It is more beautiful than the Rolex Submariner, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and Patek Philippe Nautilus. I like the Maltese cross design of the VC case and bracelet. the transparent case back and gold star rotor are awesome. The quick-change bracelet is a plus but I don't like straps on my sports watch. The only problem with the VC is the price is too high so I would have to buy it used. I also like the Cartier Pasha classic sport design and the Rolex Datejust. Nice view of the city of Dubai.

All of them but please not the Panerais. Especially not from the boutique if you want to burn money. The Due also has just a pressed in caseback which is a no go in my eyes. B&R as well isn’t the best choice, for that Price. I myself would go for the VC Overseas, because its a nice watch. Even though the movement isn’t as good I still would recommend checking out Hublot, the CF is an interesting piece, especially the Anniversary edition in titanium. Awesome with he just black dial. Was fun to have a watch shopping trip, cheers

The overseas is such a cool watch. I have seen the blue dial in person and it's truly amazing, but I would pick the black, it's just so classic. I do wish the Overseas had a little bit smaller case size though.

the Vacheron Constantin 4500v is my grail watch and it is good to know you can buy these in store without waiting. When I move to Dubai, I will try and get an Explorer I.. and if I don't manage to I will save and buy the VC instead.

I recently bought a Panerai myself 2 weeks ago and damn it man..What can i tell you: I am so in love with the brand and the love keeps getting stronger for what they do. Their unique design, the mechanical feeling and the many many details and possibilities for different straps are just genius. I got myself that exact Luminor Marina in 42 mm (PAM02392) from your video (3rd Panerai) with sandwich dial as i do have smaller wrists (17mm). I think it wears pretty thin and very nicely on smaller wrists and still has that original Panerai feeling and vibe to it. I didnt wear my other watches (Black Bay 58 and DJ36 blue dial) ever since i got that PAM, cause I am in love with the Italian flair ;) Greetings from Germany

I just added the Vacheron Overseas to my collection two days ago. I went with the blue dial. Amazing. You are right, it is going up in price and is getting harder to get. I would go for the VC in blue dial. As it is really expensive, I settle for a Rolex Explorer 1 just that there is a waiting period of 6 to 8 months.

One VC or the Santos, The PAM 01392 you bought and probably the El Primero or BR05. 3 watches or One. The three are just beautiful, el primeros chronograph are the founding fathers of current automatic daytonas. But Genta's inspired port-hole looking overseas are just stunning. They are all beautiful watches, which do you prefer. Will you add the cartier and el primero or B&R to the collection, or just enjoying the Panerai first. Or will there be a hunt for the Vacheron Constatin. Probably moving up to Royal Oak and Nautilus. Guell we'll just have to find out. Salute and Congrats to your new Panereai btw good pick.

these are watches at very very different price levels :D out of them, the VC overseas by a large margin, but it is also basically twice as expensive as the second most expensive one on the list. otherwise the rolex or breitling (4 times less expensive than the VC, 2 times less than the rolex). edit: ah, he bought the panerai. hope he enjoys it.

Vacheron Constantin hands down, but that overseas one a bit plain. I would go for more the traditionnelle tourbillon or perpetual calendar variants.

Ray , the Rolex Datejust price wise and value wise is my choice but financially the if you’re good the VC is fantastic. I passed on the blue overseas once and wouldn’t do it again. Great 2 video compilation I enjoyed.

None of those watches trigger my interest, exept the Cartier. I would recommend to have a long hard look at JLC Polaris.

Very happy he got the watch he wanted instead of following the “watch nerd” norm. I’m a big fan of the new Tag Heuer Carrera 42 and everyone always judges like why don’t I get a Speedmaster or El Primero (because I already have an El Primero 😋) but sometimes a watch just speaks to you regardless of its perceived stance in the watch hierarchy. I still love my Citizen AT8020 Blue Angels. Buy the watch you enjoy, not the one others want you to get

The Panerai was the right choice, IMHO. 👍 I find the black dial VC kinda boring. Now the blue (especially) or silver dial is a different story! But can anyone explain why water resistance even matters when the Panerai is on a leather strap? I’d be careful washing my hands with that strap, never mind submerging it in a chlorinated pool or the ocean!

Great video. The VC is too pretty for a sports watch imo. It would own me. I'd be scared to wear it. The bezel would not look good as it ages/scratches. When upgrading to the trinity, I'd have to go with a dress or chrono, as Rolex has the entry luxury sports watch mastered. It is hard buying a VCO new, and taking a hit. With a Rolex sports at MSRP, you walk out plus 30% or more depending on model. Even though it's not a high priority, it does matter, wearing a timepiece that just increases in value as you scratch it. :) If I did go VCO, black is the best. The blue dial is pretty, but the straps that come with it are off, it doesn't look right. The black is beautiful in all 3 configurations. I wouuldn't trade it staight up for my 114060. For VCO money, you could get a black Sub and a Bluesy, covering all bases. WInter/Summer, Stealth/Flash, Casual/Dress.
