I decided to buy a used 2001 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey to use in Gtreece for the summer since the new construction of my catamraran will not be complete until later this fall. It should be a lot fo fun sailing around the Greek Islands!

Bobby... that cockpit toe jamber is a foot brace. With the cockpit being wide, that is there to provide something to push on when sitting to windward.

Hey Bobby, what a great choice, these vintage Jeanneau’s are built like tanks. Unfortunately when Beneteau took over ownership, eventually they changed to their new building methods. I know this from experience, running my Marine Repair and Service Company in Vancouver BC for 40+ years. I’m pretty sure your yacht still has glassed in Bulkheads and Keel Floors, just the best method out there. Quite a few clients with this era and early ones that were so incredibly built. I’d suggest to anyone looking at circumnavigating, go find a Jeanneau from the 80’s, and before Beneteau completely changed the Contruction method’s. Retired Kiwi.🇳🇿🇨🇦

Is it possible to make a steel or aluminum catamaran super thick to keep from damaging and / or last for ever 🤔. How thick are aluminum boats usually 🤔

I would think he shouldn't sell it then, but remember it's a 2001, is that still pre-Beneteau?

Great video Bobby, and great to see how much you have done to the boat, yes the main cabin mattress does look gross, Stephanie and you deserve your comfort having a great bed and nice cabin is essential, and to end a great video is to have Stephanie on it, she seemed very excited to be going to the Seychelles. You two have a great life together, keep it going. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Hey Bobby, I have to say I really liked this video. In the past I have fixed up a few new to me boats, so this episode brought back some fond memories. I hope you enjoy diy projects as much as I did. You take good care of your boats, so you should have no trouble flipping it, when you're done with it. Love your channel and have been a subscriber for quite some time now. Looking forward to your next episode. Until then, be happy, be safe, and thanks for all your hard work, sharing your and Stephanie's adventures with us all.

You're doing such a good job with these videos, and obviously profitably. The travelogue is always worth watching, but the silver lining is enjoying you and Stephanie with each other. There's a nice loving tension, mutual respect and affection that in every case adds to the sailing adventure. It's a positive energy that sort of sets a theme for each video. Congratulations to you both for making such intelligent choices in partners. Who could have known what good would grow from that encounter in Thailand a couple of years ago. Well played, both of you. This is so much more valuable to the product than the itinerant rental eye-candy in the past. Remembering the early videos where you were cleaning out your apartment and setting out with the dogs, it's clear you've made a wonderful and enormously successful transition from aviation to this new career. No more 5-stop days with approaches to minimums. Steve Schroeder

Hello! We are fans from the US and live up in Corfu. We are sailors that went to the “Dark Side” and purchased a 60 foot Fairline. 3:18 We met you in Annapolis. We are the tallest fans you have 6’5 and 6’0. Since you are so close it would be a shame not to at least attempt to meet up. Can’t be that many long term fans this close.

Hey Bobby, my nephew just retired as a decorated F-18 SuperHornet Naval Aviator currently station in Hawaii. His wife retires in a year and he wants to end up in Florida where he wants to buy a sailboat! I told him a couple of years ago to start watching Sailing Doodles because he would learn a lot from you! I've always said that if you want to buy a boat, buy one Bobby White has owned, because it'll be much better than when he bought it! 😉⛵

What part ofFlorida, i grew up on the tampa bay, sail boat racing and deliveries aince i was a baby, a great fauirly quick cruising boat is Beneteau that you can find reasonably priced at to 10 to 15 years old, for a quicker cruiser J112 or J120 are great used boats. But catamaran are great because they can move very quick off the wind and more room, and can get so much closer to the beach due to the depth of the draft. Only downside is cats don't point as high going up wind, but their are some more racing style cats that still have great interior and point much closer to what a monhoaul would.

We have owned a 2006 Jeanneau SO 37 for almost 3 years. After fixing/replacing many things on this boat, we are very happy after sailing her from Florida to the Bahamas this winter and living on her for over 3 months. We love the in-mast furler, had it reconditioned by US Spars in Florida and installed a new mainsail and she is easy to single hand when one of us goes down for a nap or off a night shift. We are a married couple in our 70s and are now planning a trip to the Western Caribbean next season. We also had a custom mattress made for the v berth and enlarged the bed so it is now big enough for 2 people to sleep comfortably. Enjoy your Jeanneau!

We also added a Fischer Panda 5K generator in the port lazarette and a watermaker in the starboard lazarette. We don't have or need a large inverter (we have a 100 watt installed next to the nav station) - we just turn on the generator for the AC, watermaker or microwave. The aft cabin has a king size bed, plenty big enough for a couple. We added 2 Group 8D batteries - one under the nav seat and one on the floor of the hanging locker. We added a roll out shelf in the hanging locker for our Engel 12v freezer so the AC unit is under the salon seat where you have the freezer. Just some ideas for you!

Nice! -- SUGGESTION -- Have Precision Sails make new sails including the Main sail and lazy bag. Also change that ratty wrap on the helm wheel. Those changes will make this sailboat shine up much much better and will be an easier sale at the end. Precision Sails will be happy to make the new sails if you give them a good promo in the next video. Nothing uglier than crappy baggy sails and ratty wrap on a helm wheel. Just ruins the look of a sailboat.

Bob, The Jeannea/Bennetu boats had problems with keel bolts coming loose, you might want to check them out. Check the stuffing box seal too. Don't forget to snub the anchor. Update bilge pumps also. Does the EPRB work, cruising lights, comms, and AIS?? One more check, the steering cable for wear and the sheaves/pulleys.Get a bosun seat in case you need to go up the mast. Usual oil and fuel filters and impeller for water pump. VHFantenna cable and connections, waterproof all cable connections with good electrical tape. Guess thats it.
