I’m so excited for you Bobby with the Spirit 525e. The sailing industry really is rapidly evolving with so many hybrid and e-boat technologies. Not just Solar but also hydro regeneration using sail and the props to charge the lithium batteries just makes sense. Low carbon impact, quiet electric motoring and not constantly having to refuel with Diesel is the way to go for lower cost lower impact sustainable cruising. You really show sailing or motoring the full range of boats, mono hulls, catamarans and trimarans. From your current temp project Searay Sundancer 340 to huge Lagoons with fly bridges, the number of charters and boat projects you’ve had is staggering. It seems like everyone is getting new boats made and they are all different. Nikki and Jason with Gone with the Wynns are getting their HH 44, Elena and Riley with Sailing La Vegabonde just got their Rapido 60 Trimaran, Nick and Terysa with Sailing Ruby Rose are breaking in there new Seawind 1370, Kristina and John with Kristina’s Travels are sailing their loaned brand new Jeanneau 55, Nick and Megan with The O’Kelly’s are setting off across the Atlantic passage to get their new loaner Outremer 55 to a boat show on time. Ashley and Ben with Sailing Nahoa are building an explorer aluminum Nahoa 55. What a great time to watch and compare all the great options in ocean cruising boats. My tayana 37 was hit by lightning. Cooked everything. Took over 12 months to be able to have everything working again. I had to sail like the old days with paper charts and binoculars. Sounds nice to have anti-lightning device.

Beautiful boat Bobby, I can't wait to see the final product. The SeaRay was a good boat for getting around the local area. I had a SeaRay Sundancer 320 when I was teaching F-15C familiar training Tyndall AFB in Panama City. Good times were had by all.

Was watching a program on the Black Pearl electric three masted 107-meter sailing yacht and they have ability to use the props to run the motors as generators to charge batteries. If wind is not going in right direction for your desired direction, you can take some time out and point the boat temporarily in a direction to make use of wind and water currents for battery charging. Creates a whole new concept of tacking to maximize battery charging.

We have a local marina with a 150kW/h DCFC for electric boats. Talked to a owner using it on day last year. Just a day boat for running around the 1000 Islands, but he loves the electric drive.

That new boat is going to be sweet. Now to just do a trip around the world.

WOW 🤯 what a cool boat , I can't wait for next season 😃BTW, it would seem by the information I saw on screen that the motors are 65 kW, the generator is 55kW and the battery is 210kWh. This means with the generator and motors at full power and a full battery you would have about 2.8 hours of energy, after that you can run the motors at about 42% load until you run out of fuel, this is assuming there is no solar input. Since it would be unusual to run at full power the numbers at 60% throttle would be more like 9 hours and then reduced to 42% until you run out of fuel, again this is without solar input. Overhead was left out of these calculations.

The new cat is going to be very impressive BOBBY, once its finished and people know about it I would expect your numbers to skyrocket mate. You should come down to Australia around Queensland with it for a tour.

I’m sure it’s a wonderful boat. I wouldn’t be too concerned about near coastal cruising but I’d be hard pressed to set off across the Pacific with those batteries underneath my deck. As we all are learning, they burn, and when they do, you can’t put them out. They destroy whatever they’re in.
