@ABC gang Thanks, I was on Patreon for a bit and will probably rejoin. I am still a couple of years out, so still just investigating now. My plan is coastal cruising (ICW) and mostly weekends with a few longer trips thrown in as well. Lifelong sailor, so know boats from top to bottom, but haven't owned anything longer than 30 feet and not familiar with pricing. For sure when I get closer I will be getting a consult package.

@ABC gang oh for sure, but it would still be interesting to see even boat trader ads compared with what's on yacht world. Or even discussing sale by broker vs sale by owner

@ABC gang that's super weird, I would think that having the draft listed is an important piece of information. I might be wrong but that seems to be a big limiting factor in where you can go

@ABC gang You certainly need that to consider buying any ex-charter. But you may not be able to get it if it had already been sold out of charter to someone else.

I think I covered it in the video ? The elan example I used is more of a racing vessel vrs cruising vessel, for a full time liveaboard racing vessels are normally not the best choice due to features, comfort , livability and so on . In general I am not a fan of elan due to their non user friendly layouts

@@ChasingLatitudes I understand the cockpit that is not as friendly or the same space but you are comparing this for the same price at a charter boat... i guess I like Elan for that reason, for the same size they wiil be faster and i like sailing

@@franklaliberte1143 charter vessels in that price range are normally far far better than privately owned vessels as your dollar to value is much much higher

I do Bruce, in all of my videos, then when I talk about what I would buy someone complains and wishes they would stop hearing about only boats I would buy, I can't seem to win here 😔

@ABC gang thank you. difficult meaning insurance companies refuse or just make it more expensive? Even with rigging and engine that are new or newish?

@ABC gang in asia air conditioning is a must … it’s 30~40 degrees with 90-100% humidity 95% all the time .. 🥵
