Buying an EXPENSIVE outdoor tap to wash my bike that came with a free house

This is a seriously EXPENSIVE upgrade to my mountain bike habitat. Not being able to wash my bike properly has been bugging me for years. This new addition will be a absolute gamchanger.

Congrats on the new house and more importantly an accessible outdoor tap. The first thing I did when I moved into my house was get an outdoor tap and drill a hole into the garage to put a hose line through to the front so that when I get back from a ride I can blast the bike down.

Having an outdoor tap and electric sockets for a number of years has really made cleaning the bike, the kayak and my wife so much easier. I only use the jet wash on the wife though as it is not recommended for bikes.

You should get one of those nobbly silicon loo brushes. It really gets into all their nooks and crannies. Do it properly and she'll be giddy with excitement waiting for the next bath night

To be fair when I get back from a ride I always clean the running gear, etc. However, I'm not that fussed about the frame so if that gets accidentally rinsed at the same time it's just a bonus. 😂

I ride all winter in the Cotswolds mud and have to clean bike after every ride. However it takes its toll on components and you have to increase maintenance. I would stick with hose rather than get a pressure washer. During the hose pipe ban I bought one of those battery operated pressure washer which would take its water from a large Jerry can. It worked but prefer the hose. So that can also be an option for those without an outdoor tap. Also useful as can be taken in the car

Yeah the battery operated pressure washers that you can fill from Jerry cans are great options these days.👍🏻
