What happens when 2 guys buy cheap RWD drive cars from the 90's? This video.
Andy and John both got new cars recently, and we thought we'd make a walk around video on the pair to introduce you guys to them.
We've got Andy's Volvo 240, and Johns Lexus LS400. Both of them absolute barges, but both insanely fun and relatively cheap to buy.
Andy was looking to get a RWD, boxy shaped car on carbs from the 80's/90's and didn't want to spend stupid money buying anything jap that has drift tax on it, and this is what he came up with.
John's literally came up as a random buy for dirt cheap and thought it could be a cool car to modify, which he was pretty bang on the money about.
Both do good burnouts and come with some interesting 90's features (like an inbuilt nokia phone in the armrest)

zDEITY I got it with 97k miles it’s got 99k now , my best friends LS has 180k miles and his still rides like a dream too, these cars are tanks bro, reliable as can be . And no joke I was pretty happy with the gas mileage I got, up Until I deleted all 4 mufflers , now I get ehh gas mileage because I’m always flooring it All the time lmao, the 1UZ engine truly sounds beautiful in person . Muscle car guys at car meets gave literally asked me “what exhaust u running?” And they don’t believe me when I tell them I just deleted all mufflers lol

I have a 1996 ls400 with well over 290,000 miles and it runs like a champ. I don't have a single problem with it whatsoever. My dad also had a 1996 Ls400 with 480,000 miles on it before it died. Needless to say, the ls400 is a great car that is worth its money.

This gives me depression. These cars were odd finds when they were "affordable", and now they're literally rare and the prices are typically over 10k for absolute junkers. So much time we took for granted before old sporty cars suddenly became rare.

Jimmies Farsa 😂😂 why would I take tips of some guy who talks smack I’ve had it dynoed pushes 507bhp to the wheels at the crank on 20psi at 5000RPM also the suspension is fine just cuz it doesn’t break your back like your car did doesn’t mean it’s wrong it’s Volvo suspension it’s not for track days I’m planning to use it as a drag car one I get my daily back on the road till then I’m using this 👍🏼

This video is pretty cool. Seeing you guys doing burnouts, moding engines and raising hell in your cars that you all obviously love. For me it would be so strang to shift with your left hand but it makes allot of since to have your right hand, the primary hand, on the stearing wheel all the time.

I have a 93 Volvo 940 with 50 trim in it , right now she's running rich as hell but still fast as hell , I have a mega squirt in the way and turbo cam once that's installed I'll be pushing over 300-350 horsepower conservatively . Right now she will still boogie for sure . But I gotta work out the kinks get the new injectors in 450 with new ECU , I have 3inch downpipe straight through no cat , no muffler just a cherry bomb towards the back to a turn down at middle of car coming out the side , she sounds awesome , have manual boost controller , boost gauge , cold air , oil catch can and she is clean clean , no rust , perfect paint . I only aquired this car about a year ago through luck . My grandmother bought it brand new in 93 , fully loaded , heated leather seats , heated window turbo . It came with the td04 13c but I put a 50 trim and running it at 14.5 psi for right now because of boost cut on the factory ECU . Yea my grandmother decided she wanted new car and she religiously since 93 got it serviced at Volvo so she's mint . I never knew these cars had so much potential but I fell in love with it and daily it . My lifted truck sits most of the time now I just love the car

That Volvo looks cool! There are so many great cheap cars from the 90's that are cheap, fun and dependable. My favorites is the full size body on frame rwd v8 cars. Easy to work on and built like tanks and parts are cheap!

@@orjan6110 Wait I never talked about turbo charging carburetted engines. On another note, there was an effort mainly by british Volvo dealers in the 70s that offered a turbo kit for the Volvo 240 (carburetted engines). It was ofcourse disastrous though.

Your smoked. Put a redblock in it with a big turbo. Build the motor up to whatever boost you want to run and drivw it for 500 thousand miles. No reason to ruin a Volvo with a pos motor
