If you buy without viewing from copart you,re asking for trouble,we all ways take our own pictures including spare wheel , tools ect along with what fuel was in the vehicle as all these have a habit of going missing.Its your responsability to make sure everything is ok, this is a problem at the moment as you cannot view.If you have a problem with copart its never their fault and the small print is very good at covering their backsides,also their images are very good at hiding things,one other thing to note is at the moment you can buy undamaged cars for, much the same money and they are not recorded.allways remember a recorded vehicle is worth a lot less and can be very hard to sell.

ive been a copart member since they took over universal salvage in Scotland.one thing that annoys me how they bid the cars up themselves.i was the highest bid on one recently again and bidding stops at 11am then auction live at 12 and i was outbid inbetween that hour which is impossible.also they mislead buyers putting the retail value which they put top price so inexperienced buyers think getting a bargain and bid higher. copart should not be allowed to put the retail value as the car is not classed as retail being a write off.

Are category U mainly finance repossessions or rental cars being put in . I ask this as apparently these don't go via insurance channels.
@terence26783 жыл бұрын
Too many rip off fees puts me off. It's a big gamble with a lot of co-part motors having serious engine issues. Buying without physically seeing the car is a big no-no.
@SalvageDiaries3 жыл бұрын
Very true. Copart fees are ridiculous. Sometimes the fees can be just as much as the car itself!

The first mistake someone makes when buying a car from Copart or IAA is thinking they have a SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN HELL to actually win one of these auctions. Unless, of course, someone wants to pay as much for a salvaged vehicle as they would that same used, undamaged vehicle? There is obvious evidence of "Shill Bidding" in these auctions, artificially driving up the final price of these vehicles when they're sold. Why someone in Ghana would want to buy a completely totalled 2014 Toyota Tacoma for $9500.00 is beyond my comprehension. The fact that these companies even allow International bidding is complete and utter nonsense. I need a part for my Honda. I think I'll look for it at an auction yard in Saudia Arabia, even though I live in the USA. Makes so much sense, right? Oh, and don't get me started on how Copart likes to relist, or "reassign", vehicles for sale after the live auction has ended and the highest bidder has already won the vehicle. Then, Copart will send an email to the winning bidder, and all previous bidders, saying: "We're Sorry, This Lot Has Been Reassigned and All Previous Bids Have Been Canceled. The Lot(vehicle) Will Be Reauctioned Starting At The Previous Highest Bid." Despite the fact that the vehicle was listed as a "Pure Sale" in which the vehicle gets sold to the highest bidder regardless of the final price, there is no "reserve" price to be met. Yet another way of them fucking people over when the vehicle doesn't sell for the amount they(Copart), or the insurance company, wanted. Fucking scam. Don't waste your time or money here at these auctions. You are buying someone else's problem.

Hi mate really enjoyed the video, just a quick question expanding on what you said at the end of the video, how do you find the space to do what you’re doing? Do you rent your garage/unit or is it part of your property? I want to do what you’re doing but I only have one parking space for my own car on my drive and I’d like to be able to buy a couple of cars to work on. What do you recommend storage wise so that I can work on a car indoors but don’t want the expense of a big industrial unit?
@SalvageDiaries4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate I'm lucky enough to have a big garage I can use to do what I do but if I was in your situation I would rent a up and over garage and start out that way. Usually they dont come with power but i would buy a small generator for power and away you go. If its something you enjoy and you see yourself making a few quid out of it then later down the line you may be in a position to expand. Also depends on what area you live in... if your up north units are reasonably cheap. Good luck!

Very good video. I wonder if it is only a hobby is it worth it? You have to pay initial registration fee ( i think it is £100), then every year member's fee, pay for delivery, and before you sell the car you have to insure and tax it to be legal for test drive.

My videos are never to tempt anyone into anything they are just a little guide to use from mistakes I've made in the past. Buying from auction Is a big risk, sometimes it pays off and sometimes it dont. That's the name of the game
