Some of the stories I have talking with my grandparents are when they finally got a car, a Lada are wonderful, the trips they were able to take and the places they were able to visit in it are amazing. they later got a maluch but they always spoke fondly of the Lada

Old Zhigulis... They made all the way from Russia to Brazil. We have some Zhigulis here, too... Their numbers dwindling each year, but overall, nice cars. My grandpa had one, I always loved that car, and one day I will have one of my own. Even if I have to import it from Europe. I agree with Marek, there is nothing really good about the car, but when you grow up with them, they become special. Nothing is fancy on a Zhiguli, it is nothing more than four wheels, and engine and seats, but it is MAGICAL. I know this is a lot late, but congratulations, Marek. Dreams are not made reality every day.

I saw my first ever Lada in America at a car meet a few weeks ago. It was completely stock and absolutely slammed. It looks so cool. Can’t wait to see what you guys do with it.

Congrats, Marek! Ladas are great! I do own one, 2103, from 1976 as well. And dash is originally from 2103/2106. They been same. Newer ones didnt had those centre top, round vents, or Wood-like co sole surrounding. . I hope it will give You a lot of fun and Joy to drive it!

ladas are actually one of my weird dream cars too,they're really rare here in the uk, I love retro boxy cars,they look cool slammed,it is a legitimate piece of history and people can actually get mad performance out of them, gunna be cool to see where this goes

I am happy for Marek. He fulfills a dream. It reminds me of my childhood, Trabant, Wartburg, Lada, Skoda, Saporoshez, Wolga. Great vehicles that still trigger emotions in me.

I always fancied a Lada. The plan was going to be buy it in UK, drive it to Moscow, sell it for spares. I looked into it though and it was hard to travel into Russia by car and not bring it back out. Also at the peak the UK were exporting 1500 Ladas a day back to Russia. There aren't a lot left here. Saw a nice brown lowered one for sale with 2L zetec a while ago. Should have bought it!

Good for you, Marek! For that money you could have bought a "fast" car or a "cool" car or a "popular" car... but you bought the one that felt RIGHT. Some people chase that feeling for a long time and go through 5 or 6 "cool" cars looking for it (and still don't find it). The BEST car I've ever owned cost me about the same as your Lada, and I sold my fast & expensive car to get it. When you know, you know. I'm glad you found your dream car! 😎

Its okay, Marek. I can relate. I bought an old 79 Cressida for the same love you have of that bmw. $8,000 for a 50 year old car thats not reliable anymore, has a slow carburetor engine that wasnt meant to go 80mph on the freeway, has a lot of problems that need to be fixed and handles like a wooden horse carriage rolling over cracks and rocks. But despite all that, we see our cars as perfect antique relics like we are under a spell of beauty.
