Those Semaconnect chargers are so ancient. They need to be ripped out all over the city and replaced with Chargepoint or similar chargers.

I let the ads run during your video to help pay for your Starbucks! A few weeks ago, I loaded my Chevy Bolt onto a Uhaul car transport trailer like yours, in the dark at 11 p.m. I climbed out the window like you, not knowing about the hinged fender. Even after I got out, the door wouldn't open with the fender up.

Kyle the left fender of the trailer is designed to release and tilt away from the drivers door. I guess you guys didn't see the black latches on the fender.

a test drive in a nissan leaf is what sold me on evs.. I got a volt after that then a p85 and now Model Y and Mini cooper SE. I still love the Nissan leaf and it would be fun but... I live in Phoenix, where leafs get cooked.

Don’t want to argue or anything, but no where is forcing EV’s. Right now, the market is so small on both a National and global scale, with combustion vehicles still in line for production and development over 10 years from now. The market will considerably grow by that time and there will be much more options to choose from, but I say it again, no one is forcing you to buy one. Resale combustion vehicles will always be available, as even Californias ban just focuses on new gas vehicles, not used. What I do stress however is the importance of hybrids and plug-in hybrids, as they do have their implications and are a much better option for many.

I would have thought by now someone would have come up with aftermarket batteries for the Leaf and Volt (ie the 12 years ago eCars) as replacements that have substantially more range than their original batteries had. Kind of like for cellphones.

Maybe the most practical thing about these old LEAFs is just the sheer boring competency of the car minus the crappy battery and the slightly spicy feeling of 0-30 mph off the line acceleration. Genuinely great little car if you have a ton of CHAdeMO options like we do in Central Ohio.

In W. Colorado, there are only a few that have CHADdeMO. Mostly CCS/SAE, J-1772, Tesla. . I just bought a Chevy Bolt EUV and have been able to plug in everywhere i have been. I wonder if there is an adapter to go from J1772 to CHAdeMO ?

@@unclej3910 pretty sure that is not a thing. I have a 2012 LEAF and it has both J1772 and ChaDeMo plugs. So if they could have made that through an adapter they maybe would have instead.

I would have used a car dolly which is recommended for FWD rigs. Plus less weight to tow.

Starbucks (even Reserve) is not Out of Spec level coffee 😞. Interestingly Denver and Colorado has some of the best roasters in the country!

Great show. In South Africa the only "affordable" EV is the Nissan Leaf and there were only about 100 sold. So jars to come by.

I guessing you didn’t watch The Dukes of Hazzard growing up (I think I’m dating myself here). The only way in or out of the General Lee was through the window. As a kid I use to do that all the time with my friends.

Serious question, is everyone really making $200k a year to buy these nice vehicles? I have four rentals, well funded retirement account and no debt but I don't feel I could have two cars who's combined worth is more than $100k. I have two paid for cars that are 11 and 20 years old respectively. I must be doing something wrong. I like these electric cars but don't think I'll ever have anything better than a Leaf with an arrow mod.

Um I would have stayed plugged in and walked the 3 miles to your coffee shop. The parking at the coffee store looks a little sketchy and/or expensive. And maybe you will come back to Seattle and buy that guy’s Bolt EV when his Rivian shows up…..I will watch that video!

You will lucky to drive 60 miles one way on this leaf. I can't believe you bought this car. You can't use the heat in the winter, because you loose 30 % of range.. You need to sell it now. Because you're going to hate it. Nissan batteries are not heated or cooled. Worst electric batteries on the market. I should know. I have a 2012 nissan leaf with only 6 bars on the dash board. I get maybe 40 miles of range on my car going one way.

@@Black-Villain what a deal! The damage is negligible at that price point and the gas savings alone will pay for the car over the next two to three years. Also, 150 -200 miles per charge is great and the charge speed isn't terrible like the older iterations of the car.

Why would you buy a 10 y/o electric car when the technology has changed so much in the interim? Wouldn't a Chevy Bolt or something similar that is brand new be a better comparison with the ridiculously 70-100k+ automobiles you usually drive?
