Momos are always best tasted when eaten with hands.

I was a bit surprised to find out that a lot of people not knowing (not their mistake though it’s the sellers fault probably) that momo comes with a soup. It’s so common here in Northeast and also specially in Tibet,Nepal. Either chicken or mutton soup is served. Fizzy drink is something which we would never have along with momos 😃

I was literally face-palming when they didn’t know that momo with soup is a thing. Being a Delhiite, my perfect winter date is having chicken momo with clear soup at Dilli Haat!

In college days in Guwahati I used to eat stall momos with unlimited soup with spicy chutney for 20 with my hostel buddies. In Mumbai they serve with Mayo and no soup.

Dahi is a spice, cockroach is a bird, shreya is a spicy gal. Yes. I agree.

In Gangtok and any hill station near Bengal momo is served with unlimited clear soup (basically it's just broth with salt and pepper and you have it by mixing the spicy chutney served with momos . ) And the filling of every good momo I've had has plain onion and chicken minced with ginger coriander and msg or ajinamoto . And veg momo has cabbage onion and coriander filling with msg ofc (in some places they make filling with squash because it grows in abundance in these areas and it is amazing) and it beats any other momo with masaledar filling . Momo is supposed to be soulful and simple. The chutneyy is spiceyyy!

I grew up majority of my life abroad, when I came for college and made a lot of friends from NE. There was a nepali family that ran a momo stall near my uni, and I always ended up there with my friends when it rained. They served these amazing chilli momos that were fried in this chilli gravy. It was spicy and tangy and the best I have ever had. I miss them so much right now.

To those who surprised by the combination, Momo supposed to be eat with soup actually 😒,, Momo without Soup like pani puri(phuska) without the "Pani" 😐

Here in East and north east we get soup free momos. It's actually a thing and it's amazing. Here in ranchi I've always had momos with soup and also mayo tastes amazing with momos.if you can't eat the spicy chutney then you can actually mix with mayo and make it less spicy.

Momo is a Tibetan dish. The traditional pronunciation and spelling is Mokmok. It is a dumpling usually filled with yak, mutton, lamb, or beef, the newari style is almost always made of chicken and buffalo, because beef is not consumed by the Newari people and pork is a no no. The best momos you will find outside of Tibet are in Ladakh and Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh hands down. Momo is eaten across the Tibetan Plateau, Nepal, Ladakh, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and even in Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan.

Sometimes at my home in California, USA, I buy frozen Chinese dumplings (chicken and vegetable) that I can pan fry. Usually, I eat those dumplings with Sweet Chili Sauce, but since we ran out of Sweet Chili Sauce, I improvised by having my dumplings with mayo and they're actually delicious. Dumplings + mayo = delicious
