Not really, some moms were so conflicting, one minute it’s perfect, nothing bad to say. Next, they still scoring 9. Also the one who cooked last, saying she would finish the plate )because she was satisfied) yet eating a 6, I don’t know just sounds conflicting. MO

@@TLG2211A lot of people don’t realize that a 6/10 isn’t that bad, if a 5/10 is average (cause it’s the median number) that still technically means it’s somewhat above average. @@avant-garde2.028 red wine to make it sweeter and also for the color. Just make sure to cook it slowly so the alcohol gets evaporated. Take a cup and fill it up with a bit of the noodle water you used since it will bind the Bolognese trough the flour the spaghetti lost and also it gives a bit of taste and saltiness since you most likely salt the water to get it heated faster. Usually if you work with wine it's dark meat red wine bright meat white wine. . @@punkqueen5664 there is a lot of fine cuisine in Italy (with 371 Michelin starred restaurants, just to give an example). Perhaps you're only familiar with home cooking, which is indeed made with fresh ingredients and is quite rustic and "simple", but that's what makes it delicious. Also, we're not horrible about food (at least, not all of us, that's a generalisation). Our reasoning is: if you want to put cream in carbonara go ahead, but don't call it carbonara, as that means something specific for us. Would you add pineapple to a cherry pie and still call it cherry pie? Probably not.

Huh, I loved this episode! The moms were really fair and honest while eating each other's food. But I noticed a scoring discrepancy in the video. During the video at 2:39 Edimara receives an overall score of 15/20 and at 4:32 it shows Selene receiving an overall score of 12/20, however, in the end (6:18), their scores were switched showing Edimara receiving a 12/20 and Selene receiving a 15/20. This may be an editing error but please correct for accuracy @BuzzFeedUK.

@@areswalker5647 omg, thank you!! wish youtube had notified me of your comment, sorry it took so long to reply here's my overall trial and errors: I'm not super good at cooking, so I buy pre made pasta and just boil it on water and salt I think my main problem is the sauce for seasoning I mainly go for salt, pepper, basil, onions and garlic I have tried to use bacon besides the minced meat once, I believe Italians often use some sort of pork too... but I think mine turned out worst than when I didn't use any, so I haven't used it since I fry onions and garlic on olive oil then, I've tried to put tomatoes first, let it reduce then add the meat, and I have also tried to cook the meat until it's golden before adding any tomatoes (I've tried tomato sauce, puree, and fresh tomatoes), but neither turned out super great lol one doubt I always have is if I should mix the pasta and sauce and cook it together, or cook separately then mix them at the end also heard that I should add some of the past water on the sauce, but it didn't make much difference for me, maybe I didn't add enough also, I think one mistake I make is not cooking the sauce for long enough cuz I usually go for one hour, one hour and a half maximum

@@nathalykim1263 hi :) Don't worry about being late, sometimes KZfaq makes a mess of notifications, it happened to me too. Anyway I'm gonna write the Bolognese recipe that i think would work better for you according to your time limit (being the same as mine, it means i also usually cook Bolognese like this for me and my family, so it's family proofed). I dunno if you do it for a single person or for multiple people so I'm only gonna write the procedure and general ingredients. First step: soffritto. Put the pot on the fire and when it starts to be warm put oil enough to cover the base of it. When the oil's hot (not enough to fry just enough to start making some little bubbles) put the previously chopped carrots, onions and celery. While you make them cook gold you season the soffritto with a bit of salt and black pepper. Second step: the meat. Taste vary according to the type of meat and the animal obviously; for a richer taste I'd use two different minced meat (pork and veal). [Other options: it's good even if you use only one of the two, or you can use turkey mince if you want a lighter meat. Depends on what you want and need, or what you can find in the stores but refrain from getting too far from the first advice because the end result of the pasta depends on it. Plus keep in mind that the bigger the pieces of minced meat are the best because it keeps the juices in.] When the soffritto is quite done put the meat in the pot and stir it. Add a bit of salt and mix it all. Third step: the sauce. When the meat is medium raw (half red, lightly golden meat) you add the tomato sauce. It needs to be at the very least enough to cover all the ingredients by three fingers (going to explain why later). Add oil, salt and red pepper to your taste. Add some parmigiano cheese and basil too. Now you leave it to boil, the longer it boils the more tasty it's gonna be but the longer you mean for it to boil, the more sauce you need because by boiling it's gonna reduce a lot. Let it cook until it's a beautiful deep red color, the sauce is creamy with meat juice and each ingredients are cooked. Fourth step: the pasta. This is gonna be tricky because while people abroad know this recipe as "spaghetti Bolognese", in Italy we don't use spaghetti when doing Bolognese, you need something bigger and "rougher" in order to trap the meaty sauce; so we use Fettuccine, Rigatoni, Pappardelle, Tagliatelle, even Penne Rigate Is better than Spaghetti for this recipe. About the preparation: put some water in a pot on the fire and wait, after it starts boiling add salt and the pasta. Now be aware because this makes all the difference: the pack of pasta indicates you the minutes it needs to cook, when you're four/five -ish minutes from it to be ready according to the pack, take it off from the water and put it in the sauce on the fire. Stir and mix, adding bits of the pasta water while doing it (we do it because the pasta water contains the amid of the pasta so it helps the pasta and sauce to better unify the tastes, making it all creamy and unified). Keep doing it until your pasta is ready al dente (don't make it overcooked, you're gonna ruin all the hard work by doing that). Last step: plate it. You just take the pasta off the fire and put it in a plate, add some other Bolognese sauce and put some parmigiano cheese on top. A basil leaf on top of it all and you're ready to dig in and eat imaging to be back in Italy until you can come again 😊
