This is the information about ITAC from BYD engineers : When iTAC* is ”ON”: ECO mode - distributes front and rear torque according to accelerator pedal depth and different road conditions; Normal mode - distributes front and rear torque according to accelerator pedal depth and different road conditions; Sport mode - distributes front and rear torque according to accelerator pedal depth and different road conditions; Snow mode - distributes front and rear torque according to accelerator pedal depth and different road conditions and the distribution ratio of the front axle torque will be increased to better meet the driver’s needs. When iTAC is ”OFF”: ECO mode - economy-oriented, rear axle drive; Normal mode - economy and power oriented, and distributes front and rear torque according to the driver’s needs; Sport mode - power oriented, and distributes more torque to the front axle to meet the driver’s needs; Snow mode - control stability oriented, the torque distribution of the front and rear axle pays more attention to the control stability of the vehicle and ensures the driver’s control stability.”

Anyone else concerned by that lowest/highest cell temperature delta? I mean, sure, a lower inlet temp than outlet, but to have some cells 23 degrees warmer than the others is a sure fire way to end up with weird degradation patterns within the pack is it not?

Absolutely, the leaf has specific cells which degrade faster due to their location within the pack, this is not good for longevity at all
@stefan4582
@stefan4582 9 сағат бұрын
I really guess the Delta is wrong parameter reading or different sensor location , its extremely high difference if the lowest cell is only 23C it makes no sense to me . If so the internal resistance must be huge and the battery will degrade in couple of months only . Otherwise this car is a total crap .

This comment is related to the already deleted (?) house video. I really hope that you got the things mentioned in the house video sorted out. I absolutely believe that a hard working smart guy, amazing dad and husband like you have earned to treat himself with a house to be a proud about. The insanely two-sided comments in that video was probably the reason that the video was taken down, and i absolutely understand that something like that is like a fuel (or electricity😉) to the haters. I absolutely hope that you can keep the house long into the future, and thats why i want to contribute towards the paying of the Idehus loan. Your content is absolutely worth the money, and i want to thank you for it.

Don't think it will affect longevity as BYD always keep their LFP battery at the optimal operational range of 0- 45 degrees. Battery Cell temp delta doesn't affect Longevity. As long as each cell temp is kept under 55degree c. The higher you go the more damage you do to your LFP. However the 20 degree delta does affect charging and discharging efficency. The less delta the more performance the BMS can get out of the battery pack. Thats probably why Model Y with the 60kw BYD battery can charge at 170kw, while BYD's 80kw seal can only do 150kw. Mind you Tesla does goto the extreme of pushing the battery to 59 degree, where as BYD start throttling at 45 degree c.

I can't believe the amount of hate in the comments. If you only read those, you'd think the Seal performed terribly, but in reality, it outperformed many European cars that usually get nothing but praise, like the Volvo EX30, XC40, C40, Mercedes EQA, Nissan Ariya, and Smart #3 Brabus. Let's dial it back a bit, folks - this car actually did pretty well. Even Bjorn acknowledged that at the end of the video.

Two weeks ago while charging at the Supercharger in Alta a guy with aBYD Han parked at the Ishavsveien charger there. I took a look at the car (looks really good) but the driver said, he'll never buy a BYD again, since his Han outright refuses to charge at superchargers and he demonstrated me how he needed four (!!!) tries to get the car charging. According to him, four attempts are pretty good. So that wasn't good advertisement for BYD...

@andrzejz4218
@andrzejz4218 2 күн бұрын
@@nobodyli6543 I'd say both parties (BYD and charger producers/operators) are to blame. Imho BYD should go to relevant charger producers to smooth things out if they want to be seriously competing for the European market. Also BYD's pricing policy is confusing: they often charge premium over Tesla competing models here in EU (example Seal RWD vs Tesla model 3HL RWD, funnily both made in China). Bad move when we know they are minimally undercutting Tesla cars in the Chinese market but charging premium in Europe, this feels like beeing ripped off by BYD.

BYD may have the battery tech, as proven by the performance of their batteries on Tesla EVs, but they surely need to step up their software game (battery management + UI)

The LFP will be less likely to burn out in the event of a short circuit. And it can withstand high temperatures much better than NCA/NMC lithium batteries.

lack of proper cooling means, no (real) performance, no charging capability.....and I can't imagine how it "works" in southern Europe summer

Also imaging driving it on the EU motorways outside scandinavia. It's much warmer on average, and speed limits are often 130+ which would make this problem of poor charging and performance loss even bigger. I hope BYD can upgrade the car and fix this problem, we REALLY need strong competition so producers don't fall asleep like what happend with ICE cars.

Low temperature and high temperature resistance ---- Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries have better performance for high temperature resistance, while NCA/NMC are better for low temperature resistance.

Nice video again. this is what we need!. hope you can run the Renault scenic with the biggest battery option soon. My tesla m3 is going out of the lease soon. But my company stops with leasing Tesla due to the shitty and expensive service.

How much service do you actually need with a Tesla? Even then I found it much lower than all the other including spare part pricing so not sure what you are talking about

Thing that bothers me the most is the temperature differential between highest and lowest temperature cell. That's 25 °C difference. Which is way above any acceptable level. Maybe it helps to turn off the car completely while charging. I noticed that helps with Corsa elektro

Massive difference in temperature between the colder and hotter cells. Maybe some bad cells, or just a terrible battery conditioning system.

I wonder if charging at 100kW would have been faster overall due to lower charging current not overheating the battery.

You have big difference between min and max temp in the battery. So some cells coldgating? :) Maybe sub-optimal cooling inside of it? But doesnt look good for long term balance and longevity for the pack. Dont know how is it with tesla? Was temperature more uniform?
