Great video! I bought a similar infrared heater panel, although quite a lot more money. I sat directly in front of it with it turned up to full power. I felt no heat from it! The actual unit was very hot but no was landing on me.

@henry5866 I was able to get my money back from my bank using the KZfaq video as evidence that it didn't work but unfortunately I still have the panel in the house taking up space as it cannot be disposed of regularly.

If you want water heated then direct heating by a water heater is most efficient. Water is I believe mostly transparent to infrared light, just as it is to visible light, and the reflective foil on the wall is reflective. Therefore you have very little heatable mass in the room that can absorb the infrared, get warm, and then indirectly warm the air. You would have been better ceiling mounting this so that it warms the floor. But as your floor is probably concrete poured on to ground, this would be better but not very efficient.

@@johnpublicprofile6261 thank you for your advice. I'm now using a oil-filled radiator and the thermal mass of all the aquariums to keep the room warm and it's working perfectly.

Finally some honest review that those IR panels don't heat a whole place. They work like 1-1.5m away than nothing. Nice video ;)

Thank you, I'm now using an oscillating ceramic heater which seems to be doing the job perfectly.

I haven't laughed this much for a while, you've got to love British humour 😂. Maybe you forgot to put batteries in the remote. Or, you forgot to read the small print that says it's designed to heat 1sqm space. I think it might be your fault 😂

This is like placing batteries with opposite polarity and declaring that a device doesn’t work 😊

Stick it under your mattress mate. Might not keep you warm in bed but it'll keep you a few inches further from the chilli floor. 😄😉

A naff quality product of any technology is a naff product. That in itself does not prove the technology nor any better quality products using the same technology are naff.

@EnglishAquarist White Isn't An Issue With These, look at the back... The Elements work very well 👍👍& the heat from the objects that give back off the heat, then reflects well off its surface. Anyway, you didn't say where you positioned this, or how well the room is insulated, etc... For your size room, I'd use a 1000w spilt over 2x 500w panels on the ceiling or on the inner and outer walls, covering the area, if you can't ceiling mount. I believe that you've got a duffer or a unit, as all my Far Infrared Heaters, have built in WiFi Thermostat controllers, my 700w panels are £100 (Even now 30/11/23) they work fantastically! I have a far infrared heater bar in my living room 1.2kw on high & 600w on low power, all controlled by the app (as all of them are) Smart Life App. I can set my heaters to come on, for a set period of time, they also through the built-in thermostat, turn on & off over that period of time as needed. I believe that your panel, only relies on the positioning of the remote, to cut in & out so, depending on the position of your remote, the panel may well just continue to be on all the time! Get ones with built-in thermostats like mine. You can see all the current info via the app! Also, try putting some foil insulation on the bottom & back of the tanks, at the sides also, you can easily cover over with a nice aquarium background picture. You definitely seem to have bought a duffer & it's not the experience others, including myself, have from this technology! I did some research, before buying my first unit & the boss (The wife haha) was very impressed & now instead of heating up every room, via the central heating system, we can now heat whatever room we are in separately. I can set them to come on, as I return home via the app.. I can turn on the bedroom panel, 30 minutes, etc, before going to bed... Set whatever panel to come on at 6am till 7am or whatever till whatever time, to whatever temp I select. Go to sleep, wake up & and boom, that room is lovely & warm! Position is key, a decent app/WiFi controlled built-in thermostat is key, as I believe this has let you down here! So, ceiling mount if possible, or high on the wall with no obstructions, in front of the panels, spread the wattage over more panles! Add insulation to your tanks (Aquariums) All the best 👍

Good morning I do believe it was the individual product itself. That was the problem and not infrared heaters as a whole. I think the technology is great and should be looked into as a future way to heat homes. I've been having a lot of problems with the company byecold in returning this product. My fish room is very well insulated. Reflective insulation on all the walls. Bubble wrap on the windows and insulated curtains. The company claimed that the wattage I used was more than double than needed for the square footage of the room. I put it down to just my pure bad luck.

@EnglishAquarist Always mesure & use an online calculator... this will give you the amount if wattage needed, like I said above, you can split this up of 2 or 3 panels, to get a good even spread of heat 👍 All the best, I'm loving mine 👍 I have flat panels & the bar type...

Your frustration is misdirected. The cost of heating your room with an electric heater is dependent on the price of electricity and how heat-leaky your room is. You will get the same result with any electric heater. All electric heaters are 100% efficient at turning electrical energy into heat energy. You can only get better than 100% by using a heat pump.

Thank you for your comment, I am researching heat pumps. My frustration is that the heater was unable to achieve the temperature I was aiming for. I am currently using a convection heater which is maintaining temperature and only costs £210 a month in electric.
